Great tell-all books you'd like to see

I mentioned in another thread that I would absolutely LOVE to see Geoff Petrie write a tell-all book once he's done with the NBA. It would be, IMHO, a page turner from start to finish. I can imagine whole chapters of insider information that would boggle our minds.

Another great "tell-all" book IMO would be the Life of JFK, as told by JFK himself.

Who would you like to see write a "tell-all" book?

I'm a fan of True Crime so I'd like to see a real "tell all" from some sicko. I know that's bad.

I read "The Night Stalker" which was a very good book but not told straight from the dude himself. Richard Ramirez.

Read the books of John Douglas. May be as close as you are going to get.

From the "Bio" section:

He is Special Agent John Douglas, a legendary figure in law enforcement and the model for the Scott Glenn character in The Silence of the Lambs. (He was also the original choice to play the role.) As chief of the FBI’s Investigative Support Unit — the team that tackles the most baffling and senseless of unsolved violent crimes — Douglas is the man who ushered in a new age in behavioral science and criminal profiling. Now, after 25 years of service, he has retired and can finally tell his unique and compelling story.

I've got Mind Hunter, Journey into Darkness, Obsession, The Anatomy of Motive and The Cases That Haunt Us. I think most of them are signed, as I saw him at a book signing a number of years ago in Southern California when I was living there.

Looking at that website, I see one or two more that might be interesting as well.

Echoing Warhawk-John Douglas is an excellent author. Another really good true-crime book is 'Helter Skelter', although it's a very long read.

Oh cool. Thanks Warhawk and RoyalDiva. :)

Did anyone read "Reynolds Remembers"? I almost picked that up but saw it was 20+ dollars and it looked smallish so I passed. Seemed like it might be decent though.

Sorry VF, I know this is probably derailing your thread a little.

Wait for it to come to the library. And now continuing to derail the purpose of VF21's thread even further, here is another recommendation: Bird Watching - by Larry Bird. He has written two autobios, and this is the second, most recent one from about seven years ago. Very interesting and informative about the NBA in the 80's and also Bird's life and career. That guy is one smart cookie.

I got it as a Christmas gift and read it the same day (maybe finished it the next day - I'm not sure). I enjoyed it, but it was a relatively quick read for me.

The book covers about 20 years
and covers Jerrys biggest hopes and fears
springing from his gaffes
are giggles and laughs
a couple spots almost to tears.

I read that too! Much to my dismay, I had nighmares for weeks - he was truly a SICKO! I also read the Hillside Stranglers and various others.

But, if I were to make a special request for a tell-all book I would want to hear from Michael Jackson. It would have to be all truth though.

nebs - If you want to read the highlights of Jerry Reynold's career, keeping in mind he's still in the employ of the Sacramento Kings and the Family Maloof, Reynolds Remembers is okay. BUT it is strictly party line stuff. Not one secret in the book.

Cool cool. I'm very familiar with the man but would love some side stories.. from what I'm gathering this book has limited explorations of what he has to offer. Is Jerry doing a second book?
