I find Grant annoying at times. Rome - I hatefully detest him with disgust and abhorrence.

I agree but people in this thread are associating the use of HATER as actual HATE but at the same time are using the word DETEST. You are making my own point for me. So when the term HATER is used it doesn't mean HATE.

No, it's not important. The other parts of the statement are more relevant. The only reason I suppose Napear put the "homer" part in was because some people have accused him of being one for the Kings. I never thought of him as such since all we constantly hear about is that he's a NY Giants season ticket holder and bleeds Yankee pinstripes year round on his Sacramento radio show. He gives more props to the freaking NHL NY Rangers than he does Niners, SF Giants, A's, etc. I really don't think he's cut out for this market (except it's so small maybe he slides by year after year) but should be somewhere buried in a small East Coast market.

Whatever. One thing I do hate is people who think sarcasm is the right response to a discussion.

And for future reference? The "urban dictionary" isn't the best source for true definitions of words. If you want to continue throwing "hater" around, it's just like using any other label to try and pigeonhole people into a stereotypical category. It shows ignorance and an unwillingness to accept that people can have diametrically opposed opinions to yours without falling into a generic category.

Im outside and by myself all day for work so I listen to the radio non stop ALL DAY. Rome is 3 hours of my day. I have heard other fill in hosts get ripped to shreds when they do a crappy job filling in for Rome. I don't like Napier but I do want to hear him suceed. For his sake. If he does what he does here in sac during his show then the clones will make those 3 hours unbearable for him. There is no way he will be able to take non stop calls and not comment on anything the callers say. Good luck Napes, your gonna need it.

This thread is funny. I've gone to a lot of Kings websites as a lurker, and some of the people calling Grant a homer in here...well...lol...looks like Pot thinks Kettle has a tan...

Anyway, I think Grant is doing a good job...good first interview selection for him picking Ainge...someone in the mainstream media right now for his masterwork on building the Celtics this year, and someone he has a history with. Should get him into the groove.

He did all right. Good for Grant. He obviously did his homework cause he was getting questions from all over the country and he held his own. Grant talked to CD a few days ago and he admitted that he was pretty nervous. Makes you respect how prepared those national guys have to be to take calls from all over the country.

The thing that bugs me about Grant is that he love to rip the A's and Giants when they are not playing well. But the minute he gets a Billy Beane or Brian Sabien on his show, he will kiss their asses so incredibly much.

A clear definition of a coward, and why so many loyal fans of Northern California teams have had it with this biased east coast New York jerk in Sacramento - who long ago wore out his welcome here.

Radio is about personality. Look at some of the top radio hosts of all time: Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, Howard Stern, Jim Rome....you love them or hate them, they all truly believe they are never wrong and the fact that we are arguing over Rome and Grant like this validates their success.
