But you can only get away with that so many times before it will backfire. But I'm pretty sure that coach knows that.

I don't necessarily agree with that. It sends the message that he's in charge and if you don't play with energy, passion or as coached -- you'll be sitting down for a while. I don't believe he should have to do it often, but if the situation warrants it -- continue to do it.

I was there and got to enjoy my first game and win at Golden 1 Arena. Got smashed n the first Q, matched them point for point in the second, amazing defense in the third and were tough and tenacious in the fourth. Result, another pelt on the wall. Joerger and the team shined just enough to get it done. I'll go agan with pleasure.

Question: where are Napear and Reynolds sitting?

I'm watching NBA Gametime and they were just clowning Coach Joerger for pulling all 5 starters after the slow start. I think it was Danny Granger (might have been Dennis Scott) that referred to it as "college-esque" and that he wasn't a fan of the move because they're grown men.

Give me a break. It worked. Not only that, play like grown men and you won't get benched.
These jokers have no clue. Joerger is setting the tone now so he doesn't have to do that later. When the players reflect back on the game and how they came away with the W....lets just say that these guys have lost enough and are going to be more than willing if we keep winning. And by these guys who have lost enough....obviously not the new guys but these new guys will help set the tone and back Joerger.

It is so refreshing to see a well coached team that seems to genuinely like each other. It hasn't been since Malone was coach where we seemed to all be on the same page. Barnes and Lawson look like steal, McLemore has confidence again, and Rudy Gay is playing some damn good defense and trying in general. I am quite happy with the direction this train is headed. My one worry is Afflalo. He looks old and lost out there.
Afflalo is working hard on D. Right now, they need to figure out how to get him some looks.

The big difference this year is that when he messes up or misses a shot, he just puts his head down and tries again.

If last year's Ben had been devoured by Kawhi as he was a couple nights ago, he'd still be sulking.

My biggest knocks on Ben coming out of college was his lack of aggression, and he let mistakes affect his game. Well, so far this season he's being aggressive, and he's ignoring his mistakes. Shooters can't have a conscience. Hopefully Ben is learning that. There may be hope after all.

This may seem odd, but in seasons past, I liked watching the post game interviews and I seem to have difficulty finding them the last couple of seasons. I did see the one with Matt Barnes I think, but I would like to see Joerger's interview, if there was one. They used to be on Kings.com, but I don't see anything there. Anyone have any suggestions?

We can run some plays for Afflalo and maybe get some double teams forced onto him, he is a very good post guard similar to Shabazz. We are initiating the offense from the wing with big men most of the time anyways. So there is quite a bit of space to work with

I am reluctant to say this, but the Kings played with heart, more than they have shown for a long time. Barnes has made a difference in getting the best out of Gay and Cousins, who have also stepped up. Afflalo and Lawson may take some more time to get into the offense, but they both can play defense. Kufous did some great rebounding. We never really figured out how to stop Wiggins and Levine except in the third quarter but still won. I would like to have been in the locker room at the half to hear Coach J chew out his team for their crap defense. The coach is teaching his team to have heart. I like the veteran presence from the new guys. The Kings no longer seem to fade in the fourth quarter, which has been their trade mark. If they can hold teams to 103 points or less, they are going to have a chance to win most of the time.

I think the biggest difference is Barnes. He sets the tone that you can not bully the kings and they just wilt away.

To be honest, I think a lot of players get scared when Barnes comes in the game, because they are afraid of his hard foul and that alters their games, for the worse.

2nd row center court towards the kings bench on the players side.

The moment that stood out most to me during this game was when the Kings came out flat in the beginning of the game, and Coach Joeger starts yelling, calls a timeout, and benches the starters. From that point forward, the Kings played with much more intensity. This team has the talent, but in seasons past IMO, they've been missing that fire, especially against "lower tier teams."

Barnes is showing that your leader doesn't have to be the best player. He's the guy who is mature and smart enough to know what the team needs and then sets the tone. We've talked alpha dog this and that on this board. The alpha dog isn't always the one with the loudest bark.

I'm thrilled that NBA Gametime wants to make fun of Coach Joerger. What they think means less than nothing to me or (hopefully) the guys in the Kings jerseys. Joerger is already getting more results than George Karl ever dreamt of. I don't care if he makes them stand in the corner with a dunce cap if it gets them to focus on what they're supposed to be doing.

Totally agree. It's a clear message, unambiguous and straightforward. If you don't do your job, there's somebody waiting on the bench who will.

I remember Adelman doing the same thing during the Kings heyday, and being praised for it. Of course, I believe the bench scored something like 95 pts that game.

Not since Kawhi Leonard last year dismantling Pg13/Jimmy Butler back to back have I seen what Cousins did the last two games to KAT/LMA he both made them look like children when he was on them and than abusing the entire opposition on offense.

Matt Barnes was just killing it with all the little plays that added up into massive one's he's easily been the runner up MVP for the team so far. So far Ty/Ben/Cuz/Rudy/Barnes have played up to there level while everyone else has has been pretty sub par (Temple/KK have been ok).

Side note if the team is somewhat intact (if Cousins is here next season) I would throw a near max deal to Dieng (he will get a massive deal regardless) to come play next to him, he's got a mid range jumper and is athletic enough/big enough to cover PF's/C. The guy has improved a ton.

I'd have to agree with you here. I'd throw big money his way, he got exceptionally better, better than I thought he would become to be quite honest. He is very versatile for a guy that's 6'11.

I love it. Don't know why this hasn't clicked till now, but Dieng is truly an incredible fit next to DeMarcus. Better than Prime Ibaka really because he can guard the big C's too.

Dieng is a great piece to try and target too because Minny really doesn't have the freedom to throw a max deal to him with Towns, Wiggins, Lavine extensions all looming in the next few years and Rubio on the books for another 3 years.

I think that'd be the perfect opportunity to dangle WCS in front of them. Save them from having to make that decision with a cost controlled big who brings some of the same elements as Dieng.
Sadly he just got an extension on a very cheap 4 year 64 million (compared to Adams who got 100+) good signing by the Twolves......at least there's still Gibson/Noel/Ibaka next season.

The way Orlando's going Ibaka will be available before the new calendar year
