Also, for the record...

Brick, dear, you have horrendous taste in men. Seriously, awful.

Well, I should take that as a compliment, but since I double checked all of the men chosen to make sure they had appeared on the Sexiest Men lists of major publications (mostly People except the crooner), I would have to say it is you, females in general, who are confused on these matters. Don't shoot the messenger -- I'm just a servant of the lists. :p

Also, I'm pretty sure the last goat is male too.

I’m just going to try keep this positive….We might seriously suck right now, but I’m really grateful that we have a team in Sacramento and hopefully that doesn’t change.

We have some nice players on this team and hopefully we’ll continue to get better players (soon). This is the year where some players – Brad, Mikki, and John should be traded. There should be at least one trade before the deadline and several after the season.

There’s always a certain player that I love to have, last year it was Ben Gordon (and I would still love to have him but he’s demanding way too much), this year I want Jerryd Bayless. I hope someone anyone just drops this kid in a Kings uniform before the deadline, I don’t care if Geoff has to give Salmons, KT, Mikki, and Sheldon all in one package, lol. I believe in Miracles.

Regarding Spencer’s comment: Yes it took the whole game for him to finally say something but I’m glad that the kid spoke up. The only thing that worries me is that he’s just a sophomore and he’s talking to the vets like that, but this lack of pride in some of our players is just disgusting. Hopefully Spencer will back up his words…If some of them don’t want to be here, then they can just give me their contract.

Jason Thompson!!! What can you say about him – he plays hard from the first possession to the very last. I hope his attitude doesn’t change.

Whether this year draft sucks, hopefully there’s a player out there that will fill a need (PF, C, PG).

Oh, don't worry. I've got enough sarcasm to go around.

As far as you being someone who has followed and played competitive sports from the time you could walk, big deal. Most of us here fit that category.

For whatever reasons, Hawes finally said out loud what a number of people had thought and I'm going to applaud him for it. If you choose not to, no problem whatsoever.

It's basic psychology really. If you praise someone for doing the right thing, you encourage them to do it again. Much like cutting class, calling out your teammates gets easier after the first time BUT it's fraught with mines and traps. If you do it too often OR if you don't back up your comments with actions, then you look the fool and they ignore you, ridicule you, sabotage you, etc.

Spencer was mad and I'm glad he was mad.

As far as Kevin goes, he's not a natural-born leader. He's been told by people he trusts he should step up more and fill the void and he's willing to try but it's not his stock in trade. He's a sidekick, not a superhero.

In a season like this, you take the pluses - as pitiful as they are - when and where you can find them. Hawes' actions were, IMHO, a plus. If you don't agree, that's fine. It certainly won't be the first time - nor the last - someone doesn't see things the same way I do.

Not a problem. I agree with you that someone should hold these "players" accountable. However, screaming with 4 minutes left when you've yourself been a doormat for the entire game does not a leader constitute. The whole reason I brought up my sports experience is because Spencer reminded me of the schmuk teammate who at the end of the game screams at everybody else when he's just as accountable, but doesn't show it during the game. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be Debbie Downer. I hope he turns out to be a great player. As of right now, he's a soft loudmouth who would rather shoot threes than go down low and hit somebody in the mouth. If he had done that maybe it wouldn't have been a wide open layup / jumpshot bonanza. Let's hope I'm wrong and Spence turns it up.

And feel free to keep the sarcasm going. I've been on this site long enough to know not to go agains the great VF21!! :D Plus I'm going on 30 minutes sleep for the second consecutive day and instead of girls, I had to look at a goat. Is it wrong if I found the goat sexy?

Fair enough. (Well, except for the goat part and I'm not going anywhere near that part... :p)

He may be a "soft loudmouth" but he's only 20. He's still got a lot of learning to go and I think he really stepped out of his comfort zone to yell like that. It might have taken him that long to snap, to decide - vets or not - that someone needed to say something and if no one else would, he couldn't keep quiet any longer.

We have some players who just don't care...and it's pretty obvious. When someone like Hawes shows the passion, I think it's because he truly does care.

And I think, bottom line, is we both want the same thing - players who care and who will make their teammates put forth the effort. Webber was that kind of player. I can only hope we'll see more like him wearing purple at some point.

:)

Okay, true enough about the age thing. Easy to see how he could get lost in the heat of the moment. Like I said, I'd like guys who will step in the lane and knock somebody on their ***. Hopefully, Hawes develops into one of those.
