Against who..the Kings? Bravo take a number....

He could do it against any team in the league, not my fault if you choose to ignore that (and act like he can only play well against us, when it's the first time he's ever first our team, so obv. he can do it against other teams).

Against who..the Kings? Bravo take a number....

Please. The need to rundown Reke sprang from ignorance and now has settled into pathetic sour grapes.

Reke's played through 2 major ankle injuries this year, came back early from both of them actually saying he wanted to help the team. He's still putting up 17.4pts 6.9reb 5.5ast 1.8stl 0.5blk per 36 min, which is inline with his career averages. He's still better than any guard on our roster, and likely a more versatile talent than any player on our roster not named Cousins.

Does this mean Tyreke Evans is having a good season? NO he's still shooting 40.5% and statistically having a down year (until he proves otherwise over the course of the year). The two games prior to this (against better opponents) he shot 9 of 22 and 2 of 10......both in losses.
Uh, he had a triple double in one of those games and 21/6/6 in the other. You know, that thing about impacting the entire stat sheet. He also played better defense in any of those games than any our guards are capable of. Sure, 19/9/8/1.7 over his last three while still not completely healthy. Not like we could use a weapon like that.

You also fail to mention his ankle injuries when putting up his season long stats. He had a brutal ankle sprain two weeks ago and was supposed to be out 2+ weeks, yet came back 48 hours later.

Today I saw some of my concern with Rudy. Here i personally feel we need him to be an all around quality sf in the mold of guys like Iggy - play offensively within the team, don't iso or dominate touches, play d/rebound. There is a concern of mine that his first priority might be how he looks statistically to garner a better contract from another team this offseason or the next

Poor coach. He was about to blow a gasket after the game. He apparently doesnt understand we ain't making the playoffs and the draft is 6-7 deep (sarcasm)

And yet they still lost both of those games. At some point maybe some of you guys will figure out that putting up big numbers on bad teams doesn't really mean anything.

As for his ankle sprains yes I know he's had some ankle sprains this year but at the end of the day you are what your numbers say you are. You can pick small samplings of his "good numbers" and claim that is what he really is and the kind of year he's having but that's not how statistics work. All the games count not just the good ones. By the way his "brutal" ankle sprain must not have been all that brutal if he was back in 48 hours. But hell what do I know according to the logic of Tyreke Fans he might as well be Jack Youngblood or Ronnie Lott

For Cuz, it ain't about the numbers. The pure talent he shows, his great post-work, his great rebounding ability, etc. etc.; etc. apparently aren't getting through to you. He'll be a superstar in this league and I see no reason for you to not understand that.

Tyreke put those numbers up on a team that's just about .500 and plays in the West, an extremely tough coference. It's not like he plays for the Jazz FFS...

If I had any idea who you were or had any confidence you'd actually engage in conversation, I'd take the time to rip your post apart. Yet, 26 posts since early 2010 tells me you're more a troll, won't be back and it's therefor not worth the time.

You btw have no idea where certain fans stand. You're not active here.

This statement contradicts with your previous statement in the same post that says "putting up big numbers on bad teams means nothing."

I don't even know the full line-up of the Pelicans, but I can sure say they appeared to be the more poised team tonight.

My thoughts:
- Anthony Davis is going to be a freak of nature.. he's only a sophomore in the league?
- Holiday and Gordon seem to play well with each other
- Tyreke = free trip to the foul line 99% of the time.
- I got lower level seats (2nd game) and I got a better view of the players' faces. Cousins and Thompson really know how to pout and cry. There was an early possession when Cuz just shook his head in disgust and didn't get on D--then shook his head even more when his team couldn't defend 4v5.
- No one hit a wide open Jimmer.
- So many unfortunate bad alley-oops. Bad passes or what?
- I wanted the camera to point at me and my gf but the horse/rabbit head guys hogged all the attention in my section (#106).

Anyway, I still had a good time--it was a close game until the 4th and hollering is fun.

P.S. wtheck was up with everyone watching the Niners game??? Cheer your Kings! There was a play when Kings were on a fastbreak and IT was about to hit a jumper, but the arena already went off in a roar because the 49ers hit a TD. -__-

Wins/Losses are part of numbers. As are +/-

By the way I never said that DeMarcus would not be a star or could not be a star. People seem to confuse potential with absolutes. Yes he could be a superstar and maybe even should be a superstar in the near future but he's not there yet. I think it's fair to assume that DMC is anything but a finished product and that's a good thing because he can do more and should do more with his ability.

As for rainmaker nice lame excuse of yours to avoid backing up your argument with any sound reasoning or facts.

It's so much easier to just stomp your feet and say "Tyreke is the best I told you all so" and then run away from anybody that challenges that assertion.

Worst teams in the NBA as of now:

1) Milwaukee Bucks - 6-22 (.214)
2) Utah Jazz - 8-23 (.258)
3) Philadelphia 76ers - 8-20 (.286)
4) Orlando Magic - 8-20 (.286)
5) Sacramento Kings - 8-19 (.296)

Then there's New York and brooklyn, who aren't tanking and will likely at least improve to around at least .450 and then the rest of the Western teams are out of range for a top pick. So just these five teams are going to have the best shots at the top players in the draft.
At this rate its a dead heat. I think we are better than the east teams but theyy have an easier schedule. A healthy jazz with an emerging Burke can compete

My thoughts on the game.

-Defense was terrible as usual

-Rudy Gay being Rudy Gay

-Officiating was awful, just Awful. Worst ive seen all year. Cousins was getting assaulted, pelicans players were constantly holding and tripping our guys on lose balls with no call, Isaiah getting fouled and tripped all night. And the kings got called every time a NO player tripped on his own feet and also a few late whistles just because they missed the shot.

-Coach played Jimmer for the majority of the 4th over Isaiah. Absolutely ridiculous. Keith Smart esque

Oh and nice to see Tyreke with 12 assists. Not a day goes by that I dont look at the Kings roster and wish they had kept him and moved him back to PG. Smh

Those two games were against 2 of the top 4 the in the west. A lot of teams would have lost to the clips n the blazers. NO is a pretty good team. Not dominant yet but this team hasn't really built chemistry cuz if injuries. They were over .500 until they had a stretch of road games against Denver, gs, lac, and Portland. That type a road trip would add a few Ls to any team.

Tyreke is the greatest player ever. Fier EVERYONE! Should have traded Cuz for David West when we had a chance! WE WANT SMRAT!

Is it weird that part of me wants this to morph into a 11 page Reke debate? It would be nostalgic until it got locked, plus we only get a shot at it four times a year now.

Side issue. NO isn't going anywhere until they trade one of those guards for a decent big. I know Jason Smith is out, but he and Anderson aren't what I'd want next Davis. Luckily both have trade value. They've got a strangely imbalanced roster that needs to be cleaned up. Some nice assets though. Getting a good coach in there would also speed up their turn around.

Great game until we fell apart amazingly in the 4th. Tough loss for me, the coach and the team. Great game for
Tyreke who did what he does and did it well. I feel very good for him.

Malone coming hard in the press conference... He has balls because if he continues to do that it could be received in a couple of different ways. It is a refreshing change of pace from jellyfish Smart though

It feels like Malone is struggling with the motivation part of coaching.

You gotta admit his press conferences are entertaining and certainly not lacking in any truth.

Gotta wonder how long he can keep trashing his team in the media though before he starts to lose the team (who knows maybe he already has lost them)

Even though everything he is saying is true and it probably needs to be said.....the average NBA player today is a coddled crybaby and would just assume get their coach fired before they actually listen to them and be damned to actually play defense.

Not saying that's going to happen here but it could. Malone supposedly has a lot of job security and let's hope so because the message needs sent to these players that this time around you go before the coach does.

Well if Evans is still a King, how would Ben McLemore develop? Plus Evans is somewhat inconsistent and also injury-prone ,maybe he was just lucky in tonight's game.

I loved his post game comments. Also enjoyed Cousins interview. Clearly hes getting fed up with having to help on D on every damn player.

It's time for Cousins to ask the FO to get a defensive big, Cousins should do it ala Kobe when he asked the Lakers FO to get another star player.

Seemed like the whole team never really got in sync. More TO's than Assists . One reason was so many fouls killing the game.

I counted 11 really bad, dumb passes tried by the Kings none of which had a chance to make it.

Not many NO pick-and-rolls, thank goodness, as Kings never defended one of them.

Again other guards seem just to have their way with IT and Ben but less so with Jimmer.

Every time Cuz gets the ball mid-way or down low the other 4 seem to stand still waiting, no one cutting most of time.

I like Acy's work, hustling 120% rate.

Overall a team grade of D. A D+ until mid fourth then D-

You guys do realize that we have Jason Thompson and Carl Landry signed for the next 4 years making more money than it would have cost us to keep Tyreke, right? And Landry hasn't played a game this season and Thompson didn't score even one point in 27 minutes tonight. Because rebuilding teams can of course afford middling role-players, just not 24 year old former rookies of the year with a couple holes in their game.

Enough of that though, I'm trying to move on. We have some serious issues right now. I can only hope Marcus is being showcased because all he needs is to see a couple shots go in and the shooting never stops. That guy seriously thinks every shot that leaves his hands is a good one. Why did Rudy Gay play 39 minutes? He was the worst player out there for us tonight. At some point you have to cut your losses and just put the guy on the bench. Tyreke was just blowing by him like he was standing still (usually because he was standing still). You could see the tide turning in the fourth quarter. Tyreke and Holiday were basically free to do whatever they wanted and once they realized that, we didn't stand much of a chance.

I feel sorry for Malone right now. He's in a tough situation with this roster. It's not the team he inherited when he got the job or the team he started the season with. He's got no pure point guards right now, no depth at PF, both of our newly acquired SFs seem to be in a funk, McLemore is afraid to shoot and Thornton just keeps on shooting no matter what. It's a mess, and you could see DeMarcus getting frustrated with his teammates after two stinkers in a row (yes, we managed to win that Orlando game regardless but it was still a mess down the stretch). Gay needs to accept that this isn't his team and everyone wins if he takes smart shots within the flow of the offense rather than forcing things. I thought he had accepted that, but apparently he forgot. Rudy Gay and Marcus Thornton shouldn't be on the floor together. Nobody else gets the ball when they are. IT as well when he goes into fourth quarter hero-mode.

Yes we've scored a lot of points with this new lineup but the defense has gone from bad to abysmal and that's not how young teams get better. Junk the offense, start with the five guys who will play defense the hardest, and go from there. Even if that's Ray McCallum/Ben McLemore/Quincy Acy/Jason Thompson/DeMarcus Cousins. That would send a message wouldn't it?

Anyone wish to fill us all in?

Malone said that we're a bad team (a couple of times) and that we need better players. Was very peeved that we gave up 36 points in the 4th quarter. Also mentioned how turnovers killed us, bringing up a play coming out of a timeout where we couldn't make a simple entry pass to the wing. Emphasized that it was out of a timeout, from our starting PG to starting SF.

Cousins frustrated with defense, saying guys have been making excuses, saying they can't do this because some other guy didn't do that etc. Said each player needs to stay in front of their man and just do their ****ing job.
