Am I the only one seeing a big purple/white question mark next to Omri?

He's just trying to cover up for his buddy Westphal. It's so transparent. If it was another coach he wasn't friends with he would be tearing him a new one for our record. But with Barkley Westphal will always get a free pass and he will take as big a dump on the players as necessary to protect him.

Also, I wonder what Westphal tells him about our players if he talks about them like that. Does Westphal tell him that the Kings don't have any talent? If that's what he thinks, then what the hell is he still doing here?

Part of it may be Charles protecting Westphal, but Charles had NO RESPECT for the Kings in the days before C-Webb and now that our glory days are behind us, I find that he's just back to his old self. Charles has a lazy intellect, so only winning (a lot) will change his opinion of the Kings.

I'm so bummed I missed the end of this one. I had to leave near the end of the third shortly after Cousins' temper tantrum when Denver had come back to tie it and we were not playing well. I'm happy we played so well after that, I just wish I'd seen it. Same thing happened in the Phoenix game. I was driving home, listening on the radio and it cut out with about 5 minutes left in the game after Cisco missed both those free throws.

The blowout on national TV is great for the team but even better is that our last 6 or 7 home games have been wins or near losses and all of them have been exciting to watch. Word of mouth is surely going to bring more fans out to the games if they keep playing this way.

Where the hell does this come from? Westphal is responsible for some dumb NBA commentator making casual stupid remarks? Get a life.

Agree. It's not fun to hear him talk that way about the Kings but Charles always has and always will say what floats through his head. It's hard to believe but I still generally enjoy listening to him from time to time (meaning not very often).

A little harsh but yeah I highly, highly doubt Westphal tells a commentator that his team has no talent. How would one come to this conclusion?

Brick, your analysis/comments on Cousins were right on, a joy to read, and very well said. Please save that entry for future reference. Cousins is something to behold with his displays of talent, childish attitude and emotion, his recovery - I enjoy this experience, watching him, very much despite the pain I feel. I think there is a good chance he will really be OK, though not thoroughly changed.

I couldn't focus my head on the poll. I always hope the Kings win the next game. And it really hasn't paid to worry about it too much. I felt the Kings were playing better six games ago. These last six have just reinforced it. I think we might do .400 from here on out.

I went to check the score and Kings were up after half-time, so i decided to watch the game. :) Somewhere in the 3rd, Kings were only up by 2, then start to wonder well i guess this is where the Kings will fold and got beat just like the other games, but the Kings responded very well and re-built the lead! Great stops on D and Kings converted on TOs. I was very happy Kings won but not until I heard the commentators (Kenny and Barkley). Sounded like Kings won because Denver did not show up (ie. no steals!!, Melo waving out Nene who is posting up and then hoist a jumper that missed, etc.) and Melo tuning out and losing to the worst record team in NBA. Still, win is a win and feels great seeing Kings win one over a good team, hopefully Kings could build on this win! Love the hustle, deflections and aggressiveness on offense (pick-and-rolls and made 3s!).

Westphal and Barkley are good friends. Barkley ALWAYS praises Westphal and bashes his players. You do the math.

That doesn't mean that Barkley is echoing what Westphal has said. Anyone who's honest with themselves can see that much of what Barkley said is true. Westphal knows he's working with limited talent as well but I highly doubt he's bashing his team in private to Barkley.

Great read by Brick on Cousins. Very funny, and accurate. I'd add something: the Kings imploded in the 3rd quarter when Cousins imploded. I don't think that was just a coincidence. The kid is a force for wins or losses on this team.

Tyreke showed why he could be incredibly good, if he puts his mind to it, and if he stays healthy.

One question: When Tyreke goes to the post and draws the entire opposing team to him, and then he kicks it out for an easy open 17 footer to either Beno or Garcia, are they ever, ever going to be able to make it? If they can't make it, substitute Casspi. If he can't make it, substitute Taylor. Can't anybody make a wide open 17 footer?

I do the math and I don't get anything but Barkley is Barkley. Hell, Kevin Johnson is a friend of Charles, what the hell does that have to with the Kings or Westphal. You challenge math and reason.

Well obviously, KJ must have played a practical joke on Chuckles that went horribly wrong. To this day, the fat man hasn't forgotten. Charles Barkley never forgets. Never.

The look on my face during Barkley's nonsense last night:

Dude. You're getting preposterous. Should PW be fired? Maybe, but for the love of Jehu; he's not ragging on the players to a TNT personality.

Let's not pretend that anyone in the NBA is as polite when talking to their friends as they are when they have a press conference. Barkley is not a random TNT personality. He is a close friend of PW, and since obviously he doesn't bother watching Kings games, it's not preposterous to assume that PW is his main source of information regarding anything related to the Kings. So, if this is what Barkley thinks of the Kings' players, you have to ask yourself what he hears from Westphal about them.

Also, what's with all the raging and personal shots in the last couple of days? It's like there was a KF.com party and someone called the cops on you guys. Chill out. It's just a ****ing basketball forum.

Not sure how accurate your speculation is but Turrible's comments on Kings have always been negative regardless of his source.

Anyhow, thanks for the laugh Brick, spot on Boogie hahahaha...

(Webb last night twice repeated a statement from Coachie that Cousins is the most talented player he has ever come across -- think about that)

Am I reading that right? COACHIE said that about Cousins?

wow....

I heard that. The first time it was that Cousins was one of the most talented players he'd even seen than the next time it was the most talented. I think the former is the correct one. i think I even recall hearing that he'd said that back in preseason.

No, both times it was THE. And he said it back during summer league too. Its a remarkable statemnt, especially whn he makes it to Webb, who he of course also coached. And you can see it with Boogie. You don't have 75 years of bball in you like Coahie does, but the talent just oozes. You're not supposed to do those things at his size. He's already, right now, quite possibly the most offensively talented center in the NBA. And he's 20.

no there was definitely a time when it was the, I distincty remember it because I noticed it even at the time. i think it was just a mistake on Webber's part though.

I pulled this off realgm, just because there is goign to be no direct link to it:

According to Chris Webber, 75-year old Pete Carrill said DeMarcus Cousins is the most talented individual he's ever worked with

And that statement on Realgm was made in reference to summer league. Carril has been consistent in his opinion here. Its a helluva statement, but not one to be twisted or set aside lately. Petey Carril knows exactly what he wants to say when he says something.

Nothing is being twisted. Last night, Webber made a mistake the second time he mentioned it and said that Carril had said he was the most talented. I heard it with my own ears. I wasn't claiming Carril was being inconsistant.
