I was just looking at the shot chart for the game, and Omri held Kobe to 3-12 in the 2nd half, and 2-10 in the 4th. Others of course played a part, but Omri deserves most of the credit.

DeMarcus gave bynum the business. Shows you how much more talented Cousins is then all other big men including the likes of bynum and Howard.

Great team effort also and great team ball for the most part. As a team, we should practice free throws after every practice and come up with some plays to inbound the ball to good free throw shoots for late game situations.

That is why I don't understand why PW doesn't put Casspi/Greene on kobe instead of Tyreke to start the game. Both today and the last game against the lakers, Tyreke gets into foul trouble because of fouls on kobe. The lakers use Artest to guard Tyreke, why not use Reke to guard Ron? Great win tonight though so lets enjoy this one first.

I think it has more to do with Kobe not hitting those ridiculous shots he was getting in the first quarter for the rest of the game more than anything else.

This month for Cousins..

On 28mpg Cousins is averaging 16.7ppg 7.5rpg 2.2apg 1.0spg 1.1bpg 45%fg

Cousins 35mpg averages are 21ppg 9.4rpg 2.8apg ... Get Cousins MORE MINUTES! There are some games where he is not in foul trouble where he should be in the game imo.

I could see Cousins averaging 25ppg 12rpg 3apg and a block in a couple years easy.

If he keeps progressing as much as he is, that could be next year.

the stat you are missing there is fouls -- there is generally a reason he is not playing more minutes a night. He's his own worst enemy. if he could jsut eliminate that he would be right there as productive a center as there is in the league outside of Dwight.

True, but it begs the question of how many more minutes could Westphal have gotten out of him if he'd tested the possibility of that 6th foul more often. He rarely fouls out, so if in theory he could have gotten 5-7 more minutes before that 5th or 6th foul, isn't that still 5-7 minutes of production you're not getting now?

I say play him until he fouls out.

Unfortunately though, we relied on Samuel Dalembert to hit several fadeaway jumpshots for us to win. It's a great win, but if we really want to be good we cannot rely on friggin Sammy "D" Dalembert to carry us offensively, be it for 5 minutes or a whole quarter. The Spurs wouldn't have been as good as they were if they were giving the ball to Bruce Bowen and asking him to create his own shot. Also, I liked that Cousins played really well, but I don't like that it had to come from outside shots, while a lot of his inside attempts got blocked. The kid needs to shed some fat and be a bit more explosive/strong finishing around the rim.

Still, it's really really really awesome that we won. Sorry for having to nitpick.

What a nice surprise.
Was not able to watch the game due to work before the start of chinese new year.
Was on the way back from the factory and connected my BB.
I screamed a loud YEAH and everyone in the subway gave me a very weird look!

DAMN A WIN CAN BE SOOOO SWEET EVEN I WAS NOT ABLE TO WATCH IT!!

GO KINGS!!

Virtuoso offensive effort by Cousins + Solid defensive effort by Casspi + A LOT OF LUCK down the stretch = Beating the god damn Lakers at Staples.

Cousins, Casspi, and Dalembert won the game for us. Casspi played the best D he's ever played and Cousins played the best offense he's ever played in a Kings uni. And Cousins with only one foul? What exactly did he drink?

Tyreke didn't drink what Cousins did. He really frustrated me with his play. The guards just barely hung on in this game, giving just enough to allow the front court to win it for us.

Best win of the season, by far. Cousins was great. Casspi played fierce agaisnt Kobe. Dally looked like the Dream as was already mentioned.

The biggest difference from past Kings vs. Lakers contests was the physical play and the refs letting them play. Cousins Dominated Bynum and the rest of the Kings held their own. This was agaisnt the Champs baby!!! Kobe tried to poke out Cousins eye and other assorted non-basketball flagrant fouls meant to intimidate the young Kings. But the Kings manned up! Even Beno was banging into Fisher!

This is why I love these young Kings:)

Go Kings,
KB

I get thrilled by the little things, and watching Bynum trying to back Cousins down in the paint, and not being able to move him was almost orgasmic. With visions of Spencer Hawes still roaming around the nooks and cranny's of my brain, I found myself shouting Yes! Yes! at my TV last night. Not only was Cousins outstanding on offense, but he played excellent defense, and made the self proclaimed next best center in basketball eat his own words.

I will bask in the sunshine of the victory until tonight, when god's flashlight of reality returns.

Actually, Specer's best games in a Kings uniform were against the Lakers.

THis is true -- for whatever reason (actually quite possibly the franchise's constant skill center orientation) Kings cetners have always done very well against Bynum. Think he is les well thought of aroudn ehre than perhaps anyplace else in the league.

This game shows the potential of Demarcus Cousins and this team. Cousins could be scary next year after he's had one go around the league. Add an athletic wing player that can shoot and defend, and this team can play with anyone next year.

The way Casspi continues to improve, he may BE the athletic wing player who can shoot and defend! Cousins is proving to be one of the best players in last years draft. If the draft was done all over again, I am thinking that Cousins would have gone much higher. He is athletic, strong, big, and agile. AND his attitude issues were WAY overblown! I really get a kick out of watching Reke and Cuz grow together. This might not be one of Reke's best games, but you could feel Cousins adjusting to make up the difference. Casspi continues to improve on defense, and his jumper is a welcome site on a team with few outside threats. If they can play this well against the defending champions, there are no excuses from here on out. They have the capability to perform at a high level. And the best part is they have the ability to IMPROVE! Very excited about this game. I hope that this is the begining of a solid run by the Kings. This young Kings team is exciting and if they continue to play with the energy and skill they have been playing with the last week or so, the seats at Arco will start to fill up. Just imagine this team next season with the addition of 1-2 free agents to help solidify the lineup? The Kings are looking good and the future looks VERY bright!

I'm sorry, but I don't buy that.

We didn't rely on Dally, but rather fed an extremely hot player.

You see it in the Finals all the time. There is always that one complementary player that makes some big shots in the end to seal the victory (ala Artest last year, Sean Elliot in 1999, Steve Kerr in 1997, Fisher in some many games, etc.)

The point is that it's Samuel Dalembert. If Shaq hit a couple of 3s in a row would you keep running plays for him to come off a screen and shoot 3s?
