Puzzled as to the example of Bosh/Love. Bosh joined a team with LeBron/Wade, of course his efficiency is going to go up. And it's not because they used him less, it's because he became the 3rd option and the defense didn't have gameplanz focused on shutting down Bosh, they focused on LBJ/Wade. Love joined LBJ/Irving, and same could be said.
DMC efficiency would go up tremendously if you surrounded him with players of the same caliber as LBJ/Wade.
You guys are upset we are losing. It's understandable. But it's like expecting Aaron Rodgers to throw it to Jeff Janis and James Jones and be as successful as Brady throwing it to Gronk and Edelman.
Surround DMC with a more talented roster, and his efficiency will improve. It's not rocket science.
You missed what I said completely, his efficieny will likely go up but his stats will go down, he won't be scoring that much on a better team (hence the Love/Bosh comparison) and in a successful team his usage will be way down (and so will all of his numbers), that was the point I was making and no.. it's not rocket science.
Its not the pace, not really.
Boogie right now is working on the 11th highest scoring season per 100 Possessions (which normalize for pace) of all time for a big man. Of the 10 higher scoring season, Shaq owns 7 of them, and DRob in the year he won the scoring title is the only other center with a full season at this pace (Yao and Jermaine O'Neal(!) each had a half season (48 games and 44 games), Jermaine barely scraping in over my 1500 minute limit in the disastrous brawl year where none of his teammates were left so he took every shot.
Per 100 All Time Big Man Scoring seasons:
40.1 Shaq '98
40.0 Shaq '95
39.6 Shaq '99
39.2 Yao '07
39.2 Shaq '02
39.2 Admiral '94
38.5 Shaq '96
38.4 Jermaine '05
38.1 Shaq '00
38.0 Shaq '01
37.9 Boogie '16 <---------------
37.7 Shaq '03
37.2 Shaq '94
36.9 Admiral '95
36.9 Amare '08
The pace was the 2nd thing I mentioned, the fact he wouldn't have such a huge usage rate is the main thing, but pace does drive his numbers up in all categories (where do you bring these stats from- can you give a link?).
About this historical numbers, I'd go easy on that- Carmelo Anthony has a 41.4 per 100 season in 2012-13 (he also led the league in usage that year, but still had a lower usage than league-leading Cousins this year), would you say he was a better scorer than any other center in history (and by history you mean since mid 7o's)?
