Hmm - this could be an interesting multi-year experiment:

Any KFer who wants to pit their predictable/analytical basketball abilities vs the FO's could publicly state when they are at odds with the FO, and then just add up how many times the FO was right vs how many times the KFer was right.

It wouldn't take much tabulation to prove to pshn80, origkds (and anyone else who feels that the FO is smarter than they've shown) that KF more often make better decisions than this FO.

Which is truly scary, when you think about how little information we as fans have vs the FO.

It would go to show that (as Brick surmises) if some of us were in the position to know the real reasons that explain the baffling behavior we have witnessed, we could pretty easily identify the correct course of action to fix it.

I somewhat agree, but you missed some very important things. These guys from the actual FO operates with so many variables in mind. Fans operates with a magical wand on their hand and with some schizophrenic deluded thoughts. Some fans think, if you want this coach or players, all you do is use that magical wand and voila....it is done. Us fans, we don't think of the time element, financial, and political correctness involved in these dealings. Those people involved in the organization somehow do.

Who among us fans and the FO would have had come out and say....yeah..."Corbin will coach and we are saying now that we are NOT 100% behind him and we doubt if he can really make it work. We are really looking for a proven coach, and not the likes of Corbin, but it seems like those proven coach's asking price are too high right now. We are just waiting for the right time to negotiate to increase our leverage."

Would you be able to say that?

Or, would you rather give Corbin that word of confidence that you are 100% behind him and see how it works while you silently work for your next plan in the likely case Corbin does not work?

I guess what I am saying is it is actually easy to say we are smarter than them, but that is just because we operate from a different world. Their world is different and we haven't even been there. They have ACTUAL experience in their world and we don't. So, for now most things will point they will do better than us in THEIR world.

I think you are confusing poorly managed pr spin with poorly thought through FO personnel decisions, neither of which equate to a FO operating at a higher level than the opinions of elite fans.

There's an old saying, that a person is book smart, and everyday stupid. A crude way of putting, that you can't learn everything in school or in books. Nothing beats experience, and although PDA had some, and so did Malone, Vivek didn't. And he's the one with the power. So going in, it's likely he's going to make some mistakes. If this was a new franchise in a new town with new fans, those mistakes would be more palatable. But unfortunately for Vivek, he inherited an NBA educated fan base, that had already endured and absorbed several years of mistakes. So fairly or not, he also inherited a much shorter rope, with which he promptly hanged himself.

Whether we like him or not, he is the owner, and he's not going anywhere soon. So we have to hope that he learns from his mistakes. Mark Cuban did, and he admits that he made his share when he bought the Mav's. Vivek has brought some bright minds into the organization like Vlade. He needs to listen to them. Karl, whether you agree with his system or not, is no fool. He knows how to win, and I have no doubt that he'll turn this team around. But it's not going to happen tomorrow. It's going to take a little time. He doesn't even have his own staff yet. No one has a magic wand they can wave and immediately turn this into a consistent competitive team. With emphasis on the word consistent.

From reading a lot of the posts, my gut is telling me that winning and losing, in and of itself, may not be the biggest point of contention. But that how we win may be. Now personally, I have my preference as to how I would like to see the team play. I'm not a big fan of isolation basketball, but I realize that you certainly need players that are capable of going one on one and getting you a basket when needed. But I get bored when I get a heavy dose of it. It becomes too predictable for me. Having said that, if my team can win 60 games and compete for the championship playing nothing but isolation basketball, I'm on board!!! I have my preference, but winning trumps everything. If Karl can play 5 midgets and win a championship, I'm OK with that. Wouldn't that be fun to watch?

I realize that everyone has an opinion on which way is the best way, just as I do. We all think were right. And of course I know I'm right. But while I may disagree with Bricky, or Rainmaker, or whomever, I can't in good conscience say that their wrong and I'm right. We could both be right. It depends on who the coach is, and who the players on the team are. Do all the parts fit together? Right now, my guess is that they don't, but I can't say that I know for sure. I'm guessing like everyone else. And for that reason, I'm not going to argue about it. I think were all on the same team here. We all want the same thing. To win. We're all part of the Kings family, and what family doesn't have a little bickering. Remember, we're talking about a game.

PERFECT example of court-side seats spoiled on people who don't deserve court-side seats.
Plus, old people have no excuse for staring at a phone when there's a game going on right in front of them.

By the end of this game, I'm sitting there, excited that the Kings might finally win one, and then I thought - damn, WHY?
It's just one more win tallied around their necks at the end of the year and will harm their draft position and therefore their trade power.

F Vivek.

Well, if their willing to fork out the money for the seats, then they deserve them. I'll admit that I found it irritating when I had season tickets, to watch the people in front of me, doing everything but watch the game. But if they want to waste their money that way, then go for it. It could have been worse for the lady. She could have been at a baseball game.

You don't have to look far to recognize that's untrue.

As in, just this season when Malone was fired a number here came out an immediately claimed it was a huge mistake, while the so called "experts" in PDA and Vivek claimed it'd make us better, not down the road but this season and Corbin would lead us to the playoffs. Then of course it turned out many of us were right, those experts were wrong and the season blew up in their faces, later followed by PDA admitting his mistake.

And while many of us said Karl would be the only way to save face to an extent and he should be hired immediately, these "experts" again propped up Corbin as a viable replacement for Malone, even saying Corbin is our man and we're 100% behind him. Of course, that also proved to be wrong and they ultimately hired Karl. If our "experts" listened to us, we likely wouldn't be in the middle of the ****storm we currently find ourselves.

And we can go on with other examples but a common misconception is that to live and work in the NBA automatically means you're smarter than those who don't and have more qualifications where as many times, as in life, a fair amount is based on who you know and being part of the fraternity. Just because someone who's played and/or watched this game for decades decided to make a career and support their family doing something else, law, business, owning a shop, IT work, what have you doesn't mean they aren't qualified to have an opinion and an opinion that many times is correct. Or do you not get to criticize politicians unless you work in politics, or can't criticize a Hollywood movie unless you're in the business, or can't criticize a meal unless you're a chef?

Hang in there, I think we 'll get there the way we are by continuing to watch from our rail-bird seats. We'll continue to suggest, criticize, evaluate and they will continue to go to work every day and run the team.

...... on this team or any other NBA team.

I say that because all evidence points that way. The cumulative knowledge and experience of there several dozen folks in all aspects of basketball is factual. You and I and Brick and bajaden are smarter than hell about basketball but not in the same league as the pros. None of this prevents kf.commies from sharing our wisdom and insight with each other. We do a pretty good job of that. The difference is we share our wisdom on here and the pros from the Kings don't.

Harumpf.

Kings Player of the Game?

I voted for Rudy because he made shots at the end of the game when it mattered most. I'm just going to enjoy watching Kings basketball and try not to over analyze things.

I'm not going to sweat the small stuff and most of it is small stuff. Let them play out the season, Learn what Karl wants and then in the off season Karl will bring in a couple three more Vets that can play ball like Andre Miller. Then we can all watch the Kings lace them up and play winning basketball next season.
