Wizards haven't won in San Antonio since Mitch Richmond. There's one.
Up until last season..It took the Warriors just shy of 2o years to win a game in San Antonio.
Losing streaks happen There are some decent active out of conference road losing streaks and there have been worse over the years. Kings do happen to have a lot of active ones going though. They snapped the most annoying one last season( @Dallas)

When you are coming off 10 straight losing seasons, you are in position to have long losing streaks to franchises that have been good over that span.
They can continue on a few games longer than they should have when you start having refs actively working against you when the tide should naturally be turning.

JT Orr also called a foul, but gave no inclination it was offensive.

JT Orr sure looked like he called a foul on Whiteside, he didn't motion for an offensive. Did they even meet to discuss the foul?

Trying to move past the officiating and so forth. We made mistakes to put ourselves in the position where the last 2 minutes were as important as they became. I am still happy about our outlook moving forward this season. I hope Barnes can get healthy if that was why he never returned, and that the team stays focused on Coaches tenets for this year. Don't let any one loss derail the season.
I didn't see any kind of discussion, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one.

It may be a different Kings team but the end result is all in the same. Some things never change. It's not the end of the world, it's just puzzling to me why they can't beat these two teams.

Ask yourself this question. If cousins doesn't grab the left shoulder of the defender with his left hand does he still get to the basket with ease?
I didn't watch the other calls. They were probably crap but having watched the last one over and over and looking at the angle of the ref that called it I don't think it was a bad call. A frustrating call to be sure but he grabbed the shoulder of the defender and pulled him out of the way right to the basket.
I know I will catch hell for this but I don't think it was a bad call. You can bang, you can push and you can clear out with your elbow, you are alost never allowed to grab the guy by the shoulder and throw him out your way.

I respect your opinion on this call. All over the web this call has been and will be debated to death. To me, it may not even have been the most egregious of the multiple downright baffling calls against Demarcus that all came in the 4th quarter. This call just has the most obviously immediate effect on the potential outcome of the game.
I think what bothers me the most, is that we are having the discussion at all. How did DMC go from ZERO to 6 in the 4th quarter? How come opinions from countless fans of the game of basketball all across the web are that DMC was flat out wronged by the referee's in the last quarter?
Was every call bogus? Of course not. Do some calls go uncalled? Of course, and that goes for every player in the league. The important question in my opinion, and the one to which the answer bothers me as a basketball fan is, are we questioning whether there at least appears to be MAJOR discrepancies in how specific players are treated by the officials that is having game altering results and continuing the narrative of bias aimed at attaining specific outcomes of the games?
Whether it ever changes or not, it is disheartening to me as a fan of the game itself.

Miami on talent might not be that good but match up wise they are tough for us due to the fact they have 5-6 guys who can get into the lane at will which is a massive issue for a bigger/slower team like ours, I thought both teams were sloppy and we had our chances I thought 2-3 of the fouls on both Cousins and Whiteside were rubbish the game was poorly officiated both ways.
Huge game from Rudy he nearly pulled it out for us towards the end also the two tech fouls and the 3 second call on Tolliver all added up the two techs in particular were completely unnecessary.

Didn't think the reffing could get much worse from last night, but boy was I wrong. What a joke this league has become. I guess it makes sense why they make the season so long. It helps take attention away from the games the refs absolutely blow.
It was pretty obvious that the refs had an agenda in the 4th. I can vividly remember 3 occurrences when Whiteside should have been called for his 6th foul, every single call made on Cousins was highly questionable, and Afflalo's flagrant was total BS.
Having said that, this team is in desperate need of someone who can hit a freaking 3pter. I think our best lineups this year will be Collison-Afflalo-Gay-Barnes/Tolliver-Cousins. That's a lineup that should be able to clamp down defensively, provide plenty of spacing for Cousins & Gay, and give us multiple scoring threats when opposing defenses increase their intensity.
I'd probably still opt for Lawson to start (I mean his shooting can't continue to be this bad considering he's shot 37% from 3 for his career) as I like his pass first approach to get guys like Cousins, Gay, & Afflalo going early (while Collison gives us a good scoring bench option), but we really need to either be starting Barnes or Tolliver at PF to avoid Cousins picking up fouls early while also giving us another shooter to space the floor (to help account for Lawson's shooting woes).

No extension of the arm, no push off. If you call that as an offensive foul the league should simply admit, that they don't want someone like DMC in the league. Cousins pretty much holds his opponent all the time. That's part of his game. For 3 quarters the refs did let it go, only to completely change the way they were officiating in the 4th.
At the very least they called very inconsistently. More likely the ref was fed up by Cousins barking at him and decided to screw him. And we can point out that refs are humans all we want. If you make that kind of powerplays as a grown man, whos job it is to stay unbiased, you simply are bad at your job.

Miami has more talent on the roster, than we do. don't know where this "must win" mentality is suddenly coming from. Not even counting the fact, that Miamis roster is tailormade for todays Nba.

Looking forward to Cousins weeding out all of the weak refs. If anything, Cousins will be improving the league by giving the league so much evidence to fire some of these weaklings. In no time, we'll only have the cream of the crop
Sadly it will only lead to another DMC headcase and bad on court demeanor stroy. We all know, who the villain is by now.

Justise is going to be good in another year or two. Dragic seems to be having a bounce back year. Hassan is, well, Hassan, that is to say he's a shot blocking rebounding monster with questionable basketball IQ and the footwork of a guy with concrete shoes.
With all that said though, the main thing is that they've had years under Spo and before that Pat to really get their system and team concepts down. Guys like Haslem have been working in the same system for a decade. I'm not so sure about the talent but from a team standpoint they're miles ahead.

I can't complain any more about this stuff. Especially on the road. Iv'e seen this play out the same way too may times. We would be better off resting our starters on a back to back on the road. No point in gritting out a tough loss like this. When we are good enough to overwhelm other teams on the road then things might be different.
