Our players suck. You take a look at every other big man in the NBA and they get easy put backs and alley oops because their PGs and teammates create for them.. we've barely ever seen Cuz get an easy putback dunk. However, I've noticed that a lot of defenders NEVER leave Cuz. In PnR, there's always somebody standing by Cuz, and everyone else converges into the paint to defend the driving man.. I think this is why we get a lot of open 3's. They're daring us to take them knowing we can't.
Pretty weird considering other teams don't use this game plan against AD since a lot of his offense does come from PnR....

I think we need an upgrade at PG. No one really seems to be able to give Cuz the ball down low

AD has a much greater ability to pull up and hit long outside jumpers than Cousins, even coming off a screen like a guard. They run a lot more pick and pop with AD rather than having him roll to the basket.

Agree that Ray Mac is inadequate but right now we dont have a better option. I think Collison is sufficient, not optimal but sufficient. Put it this way - we are a not very deep team missing our starting PG and being one huge asset down already with Stauskus being next to useless at the moment, considering that a top 10 draft pick is supposed to be one of your main rotational guys. We just have to hope he develops or move him for a more ready player if the right deal comes along.

Yes i agree that this might be one area of improvement. But that last night in several situations Cousins was fronted, forcing a high arcing pass in the post. But the moment Cousins was able to catch this slow, high pass, 2 to 3 defenders were right there, making it impossible to do something with the ball other than throwing up a contested shot and hoping for a foul call. What can we do, to counter this?
The Heat did a very good job defending Cousins with their limited roster. Of course this was still winnable and Gay and Cousins won't miss those gamewinners most of the time. But still - what the Heat did to us in the 4th quarter was concerning.

As much as it pains me to say this, the Heat ARE pretty well coached. Also, it's clear who won the battle of disappointing #2 picks.

The Heat are still clinging to the 8th playoff spot in the East. They are all playing for a Playoff check at this point. Those checks are not a substantial amount for the big contract stars. But a role player or journeyman like the guys playing a lot last night could use that check.

I think we better off just keep losing, we are obviously not going to make it too far this season, so why not try in receive a decent lottery pick for the draft, because honestly this team as a unit doesn't seen hungry for a win, when you lose to the Magic which are not as good as you or lose to Miami Heat when in fact most of their decent players are inactive it means you don't really want to get the W.

Kings just simply can't win the game in the last minutes, it is yet to have the right mentality, the winning mentality if you will...
We need to change are attitude if we want to develop anytime soon, because right now it's just not working.

For me it looks like we have the desire and will to win, but don't know how. We are inexperienced (Cousins should be more experienced right now, but has gone to lots of bad coaching and therefore has not enough experience in close late game situations) and make too many mistakes overall. JT and Cousins picking up stupid fouls, Gay not paying attention on D in an inbound situation, lots of fumbling the ball, out of control plays and stupid passes - this is not really a problem of will, attitude or effort.
We are just a very stupid team, shooting ourself in the foot most of the time.

I don't like the message of this post by I have to agree it is mostly right on.

I wasn't able to watch the game, why didn't Whiteside play?

to be fair... Miami is getting insanely lucky with their D-league scrap heaps randomly being amazing. Exactly 0.00% of NBA people went into this season thinking "You know who I think can contribute to an NBA team as a role player this season? Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Johnson."

Those 2 are distant outliers from what normally happens with D-league call-ups. The David Stockton result is much more to the norm.

I would call it luck if it happened once but Pat Riley knows how to find those gems and he knows how to build a winner. Miami has been in the lottery only once I believe with Wade on the team and that's because he had a injury riddled year.

Alright...I think I remember the drill, Another tough late game loss so...the coach sucks and we need to immediately fire him so that we can make a better run at the playoffs, or win with pace, or play 4 on 5 or something.
Playoffs is out of question when Karl started. Players and our coach fully know the biggest incentive to play inspired basketball is already gone. Continued losing can be expected. I think coach Karl wants to use the rest of the season to teach and evaluate the players and hopefully undo whatever bad habits developed from previous bad coaches.

I agree with pshn80 - this post is right on.

Also, PDA needs to hire one or two more players with experience winning. By experienced players, I mean players who have had experienced winning and playing in the playoffs. I think only Gay and DC had that kind experience among our starters and DC is not even playing right now.

Kinda scary how this team simply cannot run the pick and roll no matter who is in charge.

And on the flip side I've never seen a team so bad at defending the same play.
