We'd been making that pass all game long until that point.
There was a similar sequence in the 2nd overtime which also cost us on three straight trips. MT forced a 1 on 2 fastbreak, didn't hit Reke as the trailer and missed his layup attempt. Next trip down, MT gets it on the wing and forces an incredibly tough 3 off the dribble which didn't fall, early in the shot clock. Following trip, IT drove left as he did in this picture with the floor spaced, dribbled right into a double team and turned the ball over. Deficit went from I think 2 to 6 or 7 in that span. It was selfishness which cost us at the most inopportune times.

Capt: I counted numerous times where say Evans or Cousins got scored on, but it was really a result of IT losing his man. In your grading you said IT only allowed 3 points on 4 shots, but I am very very sure that his defense caused others to have to leave their own guys.

LOL @ Capt's grading. He reminds me of one of those college professors who would never give anybody better than a B-

And do you know what an average grade is supposed to be? C.

You can go ahead and put up your own grades if you want everybody to get a B+ or better every night. I'd rather have a bit of dynamic range, thank you.

Well, I was watching and counting every possession (though it was late and I was tired, so it's not infallible...) and IT wasn't the problem. IT was basically guarding Chalmers, and Chalmers wasn't scoring (2-8 if I remember the box right). Of course, Chalmers' role is not a scoring role, so that's not terribly surprising. I only saw IT get switched off on another player a few times (including the two times that LeBron killed him), but most of the time he was guarding a guy who was staying out of the way. It was not Chalmers (or Cole) that was picking apart our defense, and IT was not picking up Wade and LeBron.

Lol. I'm pretty sure that's the same line they used to say too!

Evans: 26 pts on 11-19, 4 reb, 5 ast, 5 steals, 2 TO's = Grade of C.....LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Thomas: 14 pts, 9 ast, 2 TO's = Grade of C....LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Tyreke's C is just embarrassing.

Gee, I suppose they did. And I suppose they were right then, just like I'm right now.

Evans: 26 pts on 11-19, 4 reb, 5 ast, 5 steals, 2 TO's = Grade of C.....LOLOLOLOLOLOL

And almost unfathomably bad defense in the fourth, when we needed defensive stops to win the game.

Thomas: 14 pts, 9 ast, 2 TO's = Grade of C....LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Much better defense than usual, great ball movement. There are write-ups directly below the grade that explain some of the rationale.

Tyreke's C is just embarrassing.

Not nearly as embarrassing as your one-man protest movement against the grades threads. But feel free to keep it up; your extended "LOLOLOLOL"s notwithstanding, I'm certainly more amused than you are.

You know, it has been mentioned several times that any time you like you can type up your own grades for the players, including writeups like Brick, baja, and the Capt are providing, and post them all for consideration.

I take it you instead find it easier and more entertaining to just "poke the stick" at others instead of doing it yourself, despite your stated desire to do so. Please, enlighten us on your own grades for the game vs. the Spurs on Friday. We can even have an entire thread devoted to your grades and writeups if you like! I'd be curious to see them and I am sure others would be too.

Or will you just come up with an excuse not to do so?

I asked your leader Bricklayer and was denied! And let's not change the subject here. I would like to know your opinion on Tyreke's grade of C. How do you feel about that?

I didn't say "officially", I said you could post your own grades and evaluations on a per-game basis. Some others do the same from time to time in an abbreviated format. You could start a thread for all your grades to go into if you like. Or you could post them in the "grades" thread like others do. Whatever. But you are the one constantly complaining about them, you said you wanted to do your own grades, but you don't actually make the effort to do so. Wonder why.....hmmm.

I'm not changing the topic and I am not going to give an opinion on the grades others give. Frankly, I don't really look at them and couldn't care less. Like I also don't go into the "who should we draft threads" - I just don't care about the draft until right before it happens. Some folks start discussing it in November and that just strikes me as silly. I watch the games for enjoyment, not to start assigning grades.

Edit - you will note that I don't think I have EVER commented on a player's grade. I may post in the grades threads, but it is in response to the theme or another topic in the thread. Not on the grades themselves.

You warmed my heart with the "draft" comment and the"grades" comments. They are my feelings also. I won't be interested to look at the draft threads until seasons end. And re: the grades - I've always been so happy that someone does it and the analysis that goes with it. Thanks Brick and crew.

I'm with pushn80. Also, this topic is getting ridiculous. The grades are what they are. They are one person's perhaps hurried interpretation of what he saw in the game of the people he was assigned to,. The are not hammered in granite. They are guides. I tend to look at them as comparative from player to player which is a little more difficult with multiple graders. Do that and see who won or lost and you gain info. To ask a grader to defend a grade is outright rude.

Do it yourself if you are not happy with the people who devote their time to this thus perhaps diminishing their enjoyment of the game itself.

I have RARELY made comments about the grades so you saying I'm constantly complaining about them is misinformed, as usual. The only reason I made an issue about Tyreke's C grade is because it was completely ludicrous. Isn't that the point of this forum? To debate different opinions? Or is this North Korea where we all agree with the fat boy with the funny haircut?

Why are you avoiding my question? I want your opinion on Tyreke's grade. Please don't tell me you're too much of a coward to give me your opinion!

I can't speak for anyone else, but when I grade a game, a 2 1/2 hour game takes me around 4 hours to watch when I'm grading it. Whenever one of the players I'm grading makes a play, either negatively or positively, I stop the recording and make notes. If its a defensive breakdown, I replay the play, sometimes several times to make sure where the fault lies. I keep track of assists the player would have had if the recepient had made the basket. Obviously, there's no reasonable way to post everything I have notes on. So I have to condense it down to a reasonable paragraph that hopefully explains the grade I give. Its a pretty laborious project, that sometimes I don't finish until 3 am in the morning. Fortunately I'm retired, so I'm not going to work in the morning. Not sure about Bricky or the Capt. As I've said before. I don't know how Bricky has done this all by himself for as long as he has. Its no wonder that he's a little cranky on the fourm sometimes.

I found out why the Heat needed double OT to beat the Kings, they have been practicing other things lately.

Wow. Talk about a lack of reading comprehension.

Warhawk doesn't want to give his opinion of any of the grades because he doesn't read them. Did you miss that? Reading comprehension is the key to a successful discussion.

As far as you doing grades is concerned, you wanted to be part of Brick's consortium and he declined your offer. Since it's his gig, it's his rules.

Now could you just take a breath and quit being such a pain in the patoot?

Apparently it is too much to ask for some.

I think that Baja grades way too hard also. He will go on and on about several good plays that a player makes and how much he positively impacted the game and then give him a D. It makes no sense to me. The thing is, he isn't the teacher and his grades are only used for fun. He took the time to do the write up, he took the time to post it here for my entertainment. I have no doubt that he watches every play and is thorough in his grading process and for that I just read what he wrote and am grateful that I had something to keep me amused for 5 minutes. There is no sense in complaining about it.

Well said. And the graders have shown a willingness to discuss plays that they may have missed out or misinterpreted, which only adds to their credit. These guys aren't paid, and in scrutinizing the game as much as they do could very well be halving the enjoyment (if the Kings provide any) that they would get from just watching the game as it is. I see no reason why they deserve criticism.

It's just someones opinion at the end of the day, i still don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about a "grade."

I call BS!! Sounds like a cop out to me. We can move on now and consider this case closed.

Cop out? I don't read them (except for the humor sometimes). I don't care if someone thinks IT gets an A or a B. Why the **** does it matter to me? Just like I don't delve into the drafting threads at all until the draft is there. The grades are one person's opinion, and I am fine with that.

You notice I haven't commented at all on whether your idea that an INC isn't correct given the minutes played. You know why? I DON'T CARE.

I am encouraging you to post your own grades and analysis as you have almost begged to do previously and promised to open your own thread for them. In fact, I have opened one up just for your use. Post away! Show us that you can do a better job than the others that are doing it now. Put your money where your mouth is.

I'm smiling. I assume you'll be consistent and not read anything he writes. I would expect no less from you. I'm still smiling.
