II agree. But please don't make rash comparisons too soon. I think we made a good trade. We got more than we gave up which is all you can hope for.
We gave up a future All-Star for a couple "Eh" players and a scrub. I apologize, but that is how I will always see it. Even if Cole Aldrich wins DPOY or something. Why? Because Trob was MY FAVORITE PLAYER. Not Reke, not Cuz, not JT, but T-FREAKIN-ROB. The reason he was playing poorly was because he was advised by Smart to slow it down, to stop playing the explosive, high flying, versatile basketball that made him get drafted #5 in the first place! I'll give it to you, I like JT, but T-rob is MY PLAYER. I spent SIXTY freaking dollars on a Trob kings jersey, and then that IDIOT Petrie traded him, literally the week after I bought it!! So you see, my friend, IT WAS NOT a good trade, we did NOT give up less than we received!! AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD DAY TO YOU, SIR!!!!!!!

I mentioned above spending binocular time watching Aldrich at the game and enjoying it. Well, I also watched the friends, Robinson and Thomas play against each other. Great good fun for me and obviously for them, too. Pushing and shoving and laughing. Fun to watch. Both have high compression engines. Both love to beat each other.

As usual I agree with Kingster. Evans played like he is capable of, and at the 2 no less. IT can play in this league. Let's hope Patterson can keep it up. He was a starter with Houston. Sleepy Salmons is enigmatic but can play defense and shoot. Thompson works hard. Aldrich is a step up from Hayes.

Is there anyone out there that can't see the connection between last night's stellar performance and Cousins sitting on the bench?

I thought Thomas and Robinson were fun to watch especially as a U of WA graduate.

When Evans brought the ball up he did with some intensity and purpose instead of walking it up.

Well if IT let Tyreke handle the ball this much every game and just pick his shots and hit open shots people wouldn't be saying that Tyreke can't play with IT. You're crazy if you've watched every game and think that Tyreke handled the ball in this one just as much as he does in any other game.
Of course he's not going to Tyreke as much when the game plan is to go to Cousins most of the time. Freaking dugh....

Horse Puckey. Padrino hit the nail on the head earlier. Almost all of the Kings' struggles are because the team is built as an offensive team with ZERO defensive role-players in regular rotation. The only role-player in the starting squad is JT and he's a hustle guy, not a defensive stopper. Salmons, Tyreke, IT and Cousins all need the ball in their hands to be effective in the offensive side of things. Of those four, Tyreke is a good defender. IT and Salmons are limited by their height for their positions, and Cousins is an inconsistent but respectable post defender and flat out bad in PnR defense, which every team in the league knows and throws at him non-stop.

If the GM had any skin in the game, he would have moved pieces to bring back a Dorrell Wright to play the three and then cajoled Milwaukee into giving up one of its umpteen shotblockers to play next to Cousins down low.

The success last night was a couple of things. Only two ball-dominant players on the floor at a time and all around shooting prowess from the team. There's a lesson there, it's just not the one you think.

Best played game of the year. Maybe best game in a few years actually. Never let off the pedal and kept the energy going for 4 quarters.

I kinda like Patterson. He's one of those guys who's like JT. Your team can be 20 games under .500 and he's just one of those guys that wont be part of the problem. He's not a Finals starting caliber PF but he's not a wimpy Raef Lafrentz spot shooter like I was expecting.

isaiah needs to be sent to the bench, Reke/Thornton backcourt. Isaiah takes the ball away from DMC and Reke way too much
agreed on the first part, but the second doesn't seem to be the right solution, but more fighting fire with fire. ultimately, one of Isaiah and Thornton needs to go and as sad as this makes me, it seems more sensible to trade Thornton.

why do one of them need to go? Thornton can provide floor spacing in the starting lineup so Tyreke can do his thing. Isaiah can be a spark off the bench. BUT if you insist that one has to go, id keep Thornton. especially the way he's been shooting

Too many shots required. Somebody defintiely has to go, or be given so few minutes it would be a better use of resources for them to be gone.

the only reason I'd rather trade Thornton than Isaiah is that he's not on a rookie deal and probably has a more stable value around the league. Thornton used to be my favourite player to watch on this team and I'd really like to see him succeed under a reasonable coach, but as is, he appears to be more easily traded (and, more importantly, for better value) than IT.

Especially if you consider salary. MT can bring back a solid veteran making in the 8 mil range. Trading IT requires packaging him with a contract (Salmons or Hayes), which is fine, but will probably dilute the value of the returning piece.

In my view IT is more valuable to us thn Thornton. People here are mostly down on It for this team. I understand why people feel that way although I don't agree. Until cousins proves himself we keep Thomas. Thornton has real talent but I don't think for us. bite the bullet and trade Thornton. With the present reliability of Cousins we mut keep IT.

Stats: 36min 26pts (11-13, 1-3, 3-4) 5reb 7ast 3stl 1blk 2TO
Evans ( A+ ) -- This is the first A+ I have given out, and Tyreke ALMOST didn't get it. In fact, he was on pace for an OMFG after the first half (for those not keeping track, that's an appropriate grade when an A+ looks too low). Luckily for Mark Mastrov's pocketbook, Tyreke "cooled down" in the second half, going only 3-5, getting only 1 assist, and being a bit sloppy late and turning the ball over twice. But that first half, oh that first half! Tyreke started hot, hitting three straight drives going left and establishing that he could get anywhere on the floor he wanted. Tyreke wasn't just scoring, though, he was dishing the ball like a madman, collecting six assists in the first half, the highlight being a nifty pass in the lane to Cole Aldrich for a dunk. He also tallied three steals, notably stripping the ball under our basket after IT turned it over on the break and getting it back to him for a little jumper. At the 6-minute mark of the third quarter, Tyreke's +/- was a ridiculous +45. On top of that, Tyreke was playing very good D, pretty much shutting down Luol Deng, whom he was guarding about half the time. He allowed an unsustainable 6 points on 13 shots, while scoring 26 on 15 shots. For a team in the doldrums this was a game for the ages, and a great deal of tonight's success was due to Tyreke. --Capt.
