Look, I'm tired of everyone jumping on me for this. Kobe basically ignored him in the last game, and Brandon Roy has not exactly been tearing up the league recently. Ron's defense is not what it was. We can all sit around and make excuses, but it's just not. Ron bothered Kobe last year, he bothered Pierce last year, he was really a force on defense. He isn't this year. Ron used to be able to guard the best guy on the floor no matter how quick. Now he can't guard the quick guys? What's left?

I noticed this myself. I agree with your stance to trade him before anyone else notices.

Ron is maybe a month off of shutting down Baron Davis -- he hasn;t lost a step. But he's maybe lost motivation/focus. Always a big question with Ron. Even if he hadn't stopped anyboyd all season, 30 games to start one season would be rather horribly premature to announe that one of the league's great defenders hasd lsot it on any sort of permanent basis. but we've seen it just this year. And its been a year of injuries and more nuttiness from Ron. He still may need to go, but its not because omg he's lost a step at 27 because he didn't stop Kobe, anymore than Mike had forgotten how to shoot at 28. Always possible -- we've got 30 year olds on oour team who are clearly declining early -- but unlikely until you've seen it for more than 1/3 of a season.

^ Nothing to do but take it one game at a time and the chips will surely fall...

Every game that passes though, I am thinking of jumping on that tank train and see if a good rookie might be at the end of the line.
