We would all do well to remember that an Internet forum doesn't mean you have free reign to do what you want. In this specific case, as opposed to like a yahoo/google free site, someone put up the time and money to make this thing go.
When I'm in someone else's house, I try to respect their rules.

What the hell are you manufacturing here?

My fandom was questioned, here.

Noone has free reign to question another Kings fan and tell them to root for another team - that should be against every rule imaginable on KingsFans.

It was a terribly disappointing performance. Firing Smart is cheap so don't sweat the extension. The defense is so poor in these last two games that it should get Smart's attention. Our website has warned about the defensive handicap of playing small and smaller. Thornton should go, at least to the bench. Evans at the 2. A big defender at the 3 (and we can all smile at the humor in my saying that because we all know we don't have a big defender we can bank on), let's just call him Greene for the sake of argument. Keep two bigs in the game more of the time.

Then let us sit back and do what we do now - watch the games. After 10 games we can evaluate and take any action necessary, such as fire them all, promote Bobby Jackson to head coach, search the free agents to find the best woman BB player available regardless of position and move on. Go Kings!!!!! And oh yes I just renewed by season ticket commitment to next season for $2500 so I'm a fan with an edge.

I thought this was everyone's house. Kings fans at least.

It absolutely is! To an extent, anyway. Still, it's not the free for all that it can be on a yahoo type site, where anything goes, because someone invested in making this site with a certain goal in mind. I think a lot of us, myself included, are getting pretty testy because this season definitely hasn't (isn't?) going the way we've wanted it to, but a reminder for civility isn't a bad thing. I guess my point is that mods are here for a reason, and ultimately we have to defer to their wishes because they've been charged with keeping the site a certain way, which for me is a place where good discussion can exist.

May i suggest you're taking this a tad seriously.

I don't understand Smart's answer to the small ball question. Not bringing up Donte and Outlaw is just weird, especially when the Thornton-Prince matchup was an obvious killer. Of course the Stuckey matchup was a killer also, and that didn't have to do with a small guy being on him, which highlights the fact that small ball wasn't the only factor in the No-D Kings, but that's another story. I'm all in favor of small ball as a change-up, especially if you have a team that isn't as talented as others. But you just can't do it consistently, unless you're small ballers are very good, and ours aren't in that category.

Well said, kingster. Small ball is justa convenient but not necessarily accurate name for our problem. What would help is actions by the coaching staff that makes it clear that defense is first. Get and reward one good one. Who? I'm not sure. Maybe that's a clue too. Trade today for one really good defender and let him play and give points to any other player who can up their own and the teams defensive game. I think any good defenders we have are discouraged by the poor play of the others. Now the whole thing has gone to hell. Rant #2 today.

I think part of the problem was that we were using as a successful change of pace, which led Smart to believe that it would be good for the whole 48 minutes. I also think that when he used it as a change of pace, it was always a three guard rotation, as opposed to the four guard lineups that he's thrown out as of late.

I agree that for a couple of minutes a game, if you don't have enough quality bigs, which we don't, it's good to use to give guys like JT and Cousins a break, but to me that means some spot minutes, not putting Evans at the four with Hayes at the five.

Anybody know what our win-loss numbers are when Coach Smart had our normal lineup vs. our small ball line-up?

I haven’t been able to watch any Kings game recently but I was wondering - it probably hasn’t changed but…Is our starters still playing all the first quarter, resting for the second, etc?

That's what I didn't get. Why not wait until the season's over. See how he's done and see who else might be available. Not that I have much faith in the Maloofs hiring decisions when it comes to coaches.

I believe it’s because of the Maloofs and the way they’ve handled themselves these several/many years is why so players try to don't come here. Ever since they decided to play GM, then the Rick situation, keep playing GM, hire a bunch of different coaches, and play cheap/not financially stable to handle a team. They basically created instability in this organization. And I don't think that they understand what they've done over here.

It looks like we played the first 29 games not-small-ball, and we went 10-19 (0.345). We've played the last 14 games starting 3 guards and went 4-10 (0.286). The first stretch was 17 road games and 12 home games (59% road) while the smallball stretch has been 7-7 (50% road). I'm not going to try to assess how hard the opponents were to make the comparison more fair, but that doesn't look good.

In the good news/bad news department, our shooting percentage was 40.5% in regular-ball and is up to 45.2% in small-ball (good news) but our opponent's shooting percentage was 47.3% in regular-ball and is up to 48.4% in small-ball.

Hayes ( D+ ) -- completely ineffective in there in place of either Cousins or Thompson., No idea at all why he as a 6 yr vet or whatever continues to think its productive to suddenly go 1 on 3 and throw up some completely random hopeless flip. Scored twice on what he should be concentrating on, moving, catchng and quickly laying it up. Did not rebound at all again and I guess the shoulder has completely neutered him in that aspect. I guess. Did not slow Monroe either. Not getting our $5mil's worth.

Kings fans reaction to watching our defense #6

What? Hey, check the stats, I'll give you a head start. Hayes guarded Monroe in the 3rd quarter and only then. How many points did Monroe score in the 3rd?

Absolutely love the theme tonight.."Kings fans watching the Kings play defense". A very good chuckle. Thanks. Now FIRE SMART AND HIRE MCMILLAN -- WOOT!

Thanks! That’s what I thought. I was pretty sure we played much better with our regular line-up. I wonder why he’s not going back to the original. I’m not a fan of switching line-ups every other day and I hope one day soon we can just have a consistent rotation, but we need to go back to the original line-up with a little tweak.
