By the looks of the average grade so far, it doesn't look very promising.

Reason: No trades, didn't fill a team need, didn't do much of anything except draft another unathletic guy that can't rebound. yay!![]()
B-GOOD
Reaosn: I'm not sure how anyone can give it a D or lower. We needed a big man and we went out and got one. Pieces are being filled. As an NBA player he's not the top but as for someone big and available at the 10th, we got someone decent.
I didn't watch the draft but if there is a better big man at the 10th pick, who was it? Were there any? Is it even possible to pick anyone that is better in the paint or a Ben Wallace copycat?
If yes my grade would drop depending on the skill differences

Bunch of Fanatics!!!!
We needed a big man.. YES.. True.. BUT the Kings most glaring needs were front court defense, rebounding, athleticism, blocked shots, and someone to play the PF position. We didn't address any of those needs but we did get a big man. It just doesn't make sense why we picked the player we did.
Jason Smith at #20 would have been a better pick for the Kings. The Kings could have traded a #10 for a #15 and a second rounder. I would have been happy with this if we filled a need. Sean Williams, and Jason Smith.. We could have traded the #10 for those two players imo.
The Jazz just acquired Kyryolo Fesenko from Philly for Herbert Hill and cash. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/truehoop/0-25-140/Jazzy-Kyrylo-Fesenko.html
I voted "D," but is there any way I could change it to an F?

Petrie did the best he could! I think Hawes will be a good addition to the roster. Hey at least he is 7'0" and is known to have a variety of post moves and can contribute to the offense.
We dont have a true point guard backup, and Acie Law IV was on the board.
He didnt do the best he could...dumb pick. We have Justin Williams as backup C.
I wouldn't go that far. Justin played there last year but I think he's a little undersized to be a real center. He's the type of player we need (shot-blocking, rebounding, hustle, etc..) but he's in a PFs body. Not a true center.
Yet we draft a slow unathletic center that can't rebound...I'd rather have a guy with a motor than a guy who is just simply a warm body whose name is simply listed third on a box score.
Alonzo Mourning was undersized to be a center. Ben Wallace too. Justin showed that with minutes, he could do the job.
