No we don't. Being a swell guy on a cellphone doesn't make up for leading the league in technicals and being a butthead. Not mention being a slacker some of the time and resting on defense.
i am consistently amazed by the lack of perspective from some of you. i've mentioned it in a dozen other threads, but across a hall of fame-worthy career, kevin garnett amassed 153 technical fouls and earned a reputation as an extremely fiery competitor--or a "butthead," in the parlance of ppine. garnett has been characterized as a dirty, mean trash-talker, and everything in between. but that's never stopped him from being great, from allowing his passion to drive him toward greatness. and despite demarcus cousins' penchant for allowing his passion to boil over, his statistical growth in a few short seasons on a deeply mismanaged team suggest that he's got all-star potential, if not flat-out superstar potential. does
that mean you've "gotta love DMC"? certainly not. but the hyperbolic criticism, and the barging into well-meaning threads that exist to highlight the
positive aspects of his attitude is consistently in poor taste...
for the record, demarcus is the first sacramento king of legitimate stature since chris webber to double down
repeatedly on his intention to remain in sacramento. we'll see what happens when the rubber meets the road, but in spite of a persistent losing culture established by the highest levels of the organization, in spite of a local media that shreds his entire being, in spite of a national media that doesn't believe he can grow up, and in spite of a fanbase that's always been more cold to him than hot, cousins apparently still wants to be
here. some of you most assuredly do not want him here, so you don't care one iota about his loyalty. but that loyalty should tell you something about this young man that you are otherwise refusing to see...
