Gone but not forgotten: SI.com 4 question for Peja Stojakovic

DavisAggie

G-League
What was your welcome-to-the-NBA moment?
As a rookie [with the Kings] I had a good preseason -- averaging about 15 points. Then my first regular-season game in San Antonio I had two points. We lost by 18.

Your most embarrassing moment?
My rookie year against Portland, they ran three or four straight plays at me and scored. The coach took me out.

Favorite off-day activity?
Hanging around the house with my [18-month-old] son, Andrej. I look at him, the way he grows and learns. It's fun for me.

If I were commissioner for a day, I'd ...
Why complain? Do you see the average salary in this league? If I weren't in the NBA, I'd ... go to college and get more education. I always wanted to do something that has to do with import-export.

LAST WEEK
The 6'10" Stojakovic, who has averaged 19.9 points in 11 games since the Pacers acquired him from the Kings, scored a season-high 34 against Atlanta last Friday.

THIS WEEK
On Sunday, Indiana visits Philadelphia, against whom Stojakovic, 28, has averaged 21.2 points in 13 games.

I'm glad Peja is doing good in the new environment he is in. Indy has a nice tight basketball community much like Sacto. I'm very happy with the trade for both teams. While Artest hasn't been putting up great #s in pts etc, he is such an "X" factor with how he plays defense and makes the guys around him better.

No, he probably wants to import potato chips and export matches. But then, inevitably, he'll probably want to focus on the importing at some point and just give up on exporting. It's too much of a hassle, when you think about it.
