Golden State Warriors up for sale

I'll buy only if the NBA allows me to rename them "Lakers Suck". :p

"Kobe Sucks" would be an acceptable alternative.

Ok, Ok...you're right. It is Oakland. I'll throw in a couple Glocks.

Life is full of stereotypes and we laugh at them all the time. People need to lighten up in this country. Political correctness has turned us in to a society of humorless drama queens of the highest order. Sorry, but political correctness is not correct in my book. :(

Cheap, easy, no-thought humor, putting people or places down is not correct in my book. So take away the word "stereotype" if you want. Still boring humor. Nothing to do with PCness.

As for crime, you may want to check Sacramento's crime statistics, before calling out other cities. It's no picnic in any big city. Just as Sacramento has its lovely and appealing qualities and areas, so does Oakland. Oakland has some beautiful, historic architecture, including homes.
 
Wow! Had no idea that such a simple comment I made in passing that has TRUTH to it.....once again....TRUTH to it.....would cause such a stir.

You can insult me by calling me cheap and thoughtless, go ahead. I know my intelligence level and it isn't defined by you, or a simple "yuck, yuck" joke in passing.

Remember some stereotypes have TRUTH to support them. This stereotype is not against a race, or a specific group, other than those that live in Oakland. Does that make every person whom lives in Oakland a gun toting thug?? Of course not! I think any reasonable, non-overly sensitive person understands that.

In conclusion...find something better to do with your time. Get a hobby. If you don't "appreciate" a comment move on to the one's that you do "appreciate".

It's funny that you "point" out the Crime rate in Sacramento to somehow defend your position on the comment I made, when it is "pointless" to point that out. It was not a part of the discussion. No one was debating the crime rate here vs. the crime rate there. It was a joke, based on common knowledge. Port of Oakland is also one of the main channels to the West for drugs, and ingredients to make drugs. Those people carry guns. WHOOPS! There I go stereotyping again.
 
I do see a lot of unfortunate irony in this thread. We talk about Oakland but it's been reported that just about all the ownership groups in the bidding are all going to attempt to build a new arena right next to the Giants' crib in San Francisco. Most of these guys are loaded and will privately finance it due to all the residential and retail options in the area that could produce a return.

I find it frustrating because they really don't need a new arena yet it could possibly happen and most likely will. Again, I'm not trashing the Maloofs in any way shape or form. They are what they are as far as finances are considered and I hate it when the haters on the Sac Bee comments forum stereotypes them as billionaires when they aren't. My frustration is basically rooted in how the Warriors will get a new arena that isn't nearly as needed as it is in Sacramento. Why can't the Ellison's of the world be interested in the Kings and taking care of this with a portion of their incredible worth???

...and LA and all Lakers fans really doesn't suck, I'm sure there are some wonderful people who root for the Lakers, but that doesn't stop us from getting a laugh by saying they suck, does it. So your objection is selective, based on what YOU deem appropriate. Sorry, not buying it.
