Get Pau Gasol?

#6
Don't need him? Good Lord, the Kings need SOMEBODY else with size. As for the timing, no sense crying over spilt milk...My expectations were low for this off-season due to all the trades, injuries, and lack of cohesion (due to the lack of practice time the core got together). The Kings have very movable pieces and now have the ability to reconstruct the team into a championship contender.

Oh geez. You could at least wait until the body was cold...
the "body" started to go cold at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Its full-on, rigermortis, room-temperature offseason time now.

Gasol will get blocks, but he is a terrible defender. Sure, if we could pull some strings, and somehow get either a James Posey, a Stromile Swift (Sign and trade), or a Shane Battier thrown in with it, only then would I bite.

Well, Pau is soft, but he is also a go-to guy. He's one of the smoothest low-post players in the game. If we picked him up I wouldn't be running around claiming us to be automatic champions, but I'd be pretty thrilled.

Imagine Posey and Peja hanging out together after practice.

Gasol is a poor rebounder and a soft defender.

I'd rather trade for the rotting on the bench Bonzi Wells
I HOPE that we can get Bonzi. This guy would be a great fit at the SG for the Kings. He is a tough defender and goes into the paint instead of jacking up quick shots. He is on the outs with Memphis so hopefully we could send Cat their way in a s&t if they pick up the option on Bonzi's contract. Its him or Maggette.

Its an idea -- post player and shotblocker.

Of course I would be more concerned that he would be dangled off towards Minnesota as the prime piece in a deal to get KG. I think Memphis has found out the same thing we have -- lots of good players has limited top end and you can be good but nto great that way. If they are willing to move Pau, their best, my guess is that they would be looking to do it to bring back somebody even better, not a package of random players from us to make them 17 deep or whatever.

Which team do you think could offer the most enticing 2 or 3 player package for KG?

Think Kings, Memphis, Chicago, maybe Washington off the top of my head. But that's only of teams that could offer packages and still have a comeptitive squad left to surround KG with. Obviously anybody could put together a nice package if they're willing to clean house and just bring back KG and surround him with scrubs.

I haven't really played the realgm game for all possible permutations from all possible teams.

Rumor has it (Memphis Commercial Appeal) Pau Gasol will be traded in the off-season. Should the Kings trade for him?
Yeah. defintiely. What Memphis needs is a package of Skinner, Thomas, and Corliss. They would be SOOOOO deep. It would be amazing.

That said, Peja + Thomas might get it done. I'd love to keep Thomas as a 6th big man or as a SF though.
