Today is the last day to vote for who you want in the al star game. So those of you that call yourself fans, now is the time to get up off your butts and put your money where your mouth is, if you want Cousins and Gay to be there. Here is the website.

We know Cousins wasn't going to be in the top 3 with the fan votes from the start. The point is to get him as high on the list as possible to make it harder for coaches to snub him again. It's much easier to snub a #8 fan vote guy instead of a # 5 guy for example. That stats, the endorsements by his peers and coaches are all there. This is all we can do as fans, get as many votes in as possible.
 
Yep. And next year I have already decided that if the big guy is still here I'm going to try to get us organized to give him a noticeable bump. As long as they are going to allow the fan vote travesty, might as well game it. 4 different voting mechanisms now, and some of them only require daily retweets/posts/etc. Maybe 60 days or so of voting. If you could reach 1000 people that way, you would create 240k votes all by yourselves. Even with just a few hundred you are talking about 50k or so.
 
It's all going to come down to any remaining grudges that certain coaches have against DeMarcus and how much "winning" is gong to be factored in.

A coach that I know still dislikes DeMarcus is Brian Shaw.
 
I wonder how many coaches engage in strategic voting. I.e. you are worried about your borderline candidate LMA or Dwight or whoever, and so don't vote for anybody else you consider on the bubble.
 
Kobe has a shoulder injury right now and will be out 2-3 weeks minimum. Surgery may be needed and if so, he would be out for the year. Either way, I don't see him rushing back to play in the ASG.

His spot will allow another "deserving" guard to get picked without taking up one of the possible extra spots that could go to another front court player.

To the contrary, that's actually a nice final total. At one point Dwight had passed him, but the Boogie machine almsot caught up to LMA and is right there with the guys who didn't make it. Voting:

I would have loved to have gotten him up above Tim as the best of the rest, but still, that's not a bad showing at all for a guy stuck on a franchise that can't even find a way to win 30 games in half a decade with a pissed off fanbase who's emptied out the arena. Now it goes to the coaches, but the recognition is there elsewhere.

Haha, but this is the broken down kobe. He was playing on 1 arm and has been missing games on a regular basis just to rest even before the injury. The word is he feels pain all over his body and every game is almost a game time decision for him. There was a stretch where he would play in 1 game and miss 2 to rest. If he plays in the ASG and gets even more injured, that can be it for him.

We ended up passing Dwight and by a good margin. It just goes to show that if every member voted 2-3 times a day, we may be looking at a top 4 or better finish.
 
I believe it was vital for him to pass Dwight. Now that that happened plus the Kobe injury, hopefully that allows for DMC to get in, even if that means he is a commissioners pick like AD was last year.
 
Just saw that Steve Kerr will be the head coach for the West. I wonder what he thinks of Boogie? Also, could Vivek with his Warriors connection possibly get a word in Kerr's ear?

i don't think Kerr has any more say than the other 28 coaches

Query: anybody know is it just Conference coaches who vote for their own Conference's Al Stars? Or do all 30 get to vote for all of them?
