The reports are saying the same thing: Gerald Wallace is definitely on the trading block. According to Chad Ford from ESPN.com: “It’s no secret that Kaman is on the block. Given that the Hornets really don’t want much in return, I’m surprised he hasn’t found a home already. The Warriors, Rockets and Heat have shown a lot of interest. [...] The Blazers balked a bit at moving Wallace at the start of the season, but they seem more open to it now. Nicolas Batum is their long-term answer at the small forward position, and they aren’t really competing for a title.”

we need to jump on this

Their are a few very capable SF's floating around the trade o sphere this year.... if we are gonna make a trade for one this would be a great time to do it.

My great fear is that Smart would call him a PF and leave us with the same hole at SF we have now.

Thornton and Green for Wallace works.

Or they can have Portland-fan-favorite, Mr. Travis Outlaw back. :-)

I don't think we can afford to give up a young talent of Thornton's caliber to get a much older guy like Wallace. Love to have Gerald, but he's a 30 yr old guy who has always relied on his athleticism. You lose too much punch, and may lose even more in the next few years.

I wonder which team would say no to Wallace for Jimmer first.

I personally think it might take more then just Jimmer to get Wallace, luckily for us we have a few of those 'barely attractive' pieces we can throw in to deals in order to sweeten them up for the other team.

Jimmer and Hickson for Wallace? Jimmer and Honeycutt for Wallace? Jimmer and Whiteside for Wallace?

I think Portland clearly likes the idea of a Jimmer-type player. They signed Jamal Crawford in the offseason for a scoring tweener guard, and now they are obviously trying to trade him .. but I still bet they like the 'idea' of a Jamal Crawford kinda guy. Ray Felton is also playing like garbage this year .. they need guards.

I think there is the real potential for a deal here .. at least in terms of both teams having what each other wants.

If they want guards, we are the team to talk to. We have 5 of them.

i've long been a proponent of bringing wallace back to sacramento, but i agree. i think long and hard about it, though, if i'm the kings front office, and when i've decided against giving up thornton, i still easily trade any combination of thomas, fredette, honeycutt, whiteside, garcia, salmons, etc., and draft picks to bring wallace over. don't know that any of that would be attractive to portland, but i sure as **** give it a shot. wallace may be just outside of his prime, but he's still a veteran SF who fills a lot of needs and can help to stabilize a truly scattershot rotation. that is, if keith smart wises up and puts a traditional lineup on the court...

Naw! I'm watching the NCAA tourney right now. Didn't expect to get him anyway. Batting a thousand in the tourney so far. By the way, my final four are, Missouri, Kentucky, N. Carolina, and Florida St. I have Kentucky winning the whole thing. Murray St. didn't play particularly well today, and still won easily. Look for a possible upset with Detroit beating Kansas in the first round. Kansas should win, but Detroit's a very good team, and if Kansas doesn't show up ready to play, they'll be gone. Ditto Belmont and Geogetown. I expect Belmont to win that game. The Ohio/Michigan game could also be an upset.
