Call Scott Brooks and tell him he's coaching the rest of the season
OKC would have had a ring right now if it wasn't for Brooks, he's a good chemistry building coach but he can't draw up a decent play to save his life
Pretty sure this was the Fire Karl thread at one point. Vlade may not have a choice after tonights presser.

Karl on level of buy in he has: “The only answer I give … IDK I’d say 80-95% of days we’ve reacted well” 1/2

Karl: “I said to the guys this morning, we’ve played 30 games and all of a sudden it’s a tug of war to get you to commit to running.”

GK: “You’ve gotta run, space the court and find easy baskets b/c that’s the best way to play in the game today.”

Karl on his team running/being tired: “That’s crazy. Every team in this league runs. Our first priority in training camp was transition.”

GK: GS a tough team to play good D against, you have to throw that out a little.POR’s good long athletic kinda like PHI w/much better record

Karl: “My feeling is that we have too many offensive players and not enough defensive players. We don’t have enough guts to make stops."

Karl: “Everybody goes through life and has to eat some humble pie. And tonight we gotta eat some humble pie.”

That’s an amazing quote.

Karl: “Too many times we’ve come out on this court and been the quiet team, or the soft team, or the cool team and not the man team."

Karl: “Inconsistent intensity, inconsistent focus, inconsistent toughness + mental discipline."
I am not even a fan of Karl...
But apparently, this board thinks he instructed our players to miss 16 FTs and commit 22 TOs tonight.

Think about this though -- the two are not entirely unrelated. Missing free throws and turning the ball over both stem from a lack of concentration.
At the beginning of the year we were saying it was a new roster and a new system, give them time to gel. But that's not happening ... if anything our execution has been getting worse. As we continue losing, there are going to be differing opinions about what is and is not working and what changes need to be made. That's where the friction between our core players and our coach becomes a serious issue.
We're in the foxhole arguing with each other while the enemy just marches right in and takes our flag (how's that for mixed metaphors?) In plain terms, the whole attitude around this team sucks and a strong leader has yet to emerge who's capable of rallying everyone to the cause.
Cousins and Rondo are strong personalities but they're also too inwardly focused I think to be that strong leader we need. Rudy Gay seems like the type of person who just wants to keep his head down and stay out of the way while other people fight it out. George Karl has too much ego to lead this team in the right direction. His smirk shouts in a way his voice no longer can "play it your way then, I'll be here to show you the light when you realize it's not working". That style might work with some players, but it will never work with Cousins.
Even when we win nobody looks all that happy. Imagine you go in to work every day for a boss you can't stand. I imagine your productivity might suffer a bit. This is no different. Ultimately it is on the players to play better but it also should be the goal of the organization to help make these players' lives easier if possible, because winning helps everybody make money.
You made some good points so I added some paragraphs for you.![]()
Players are more prone to make mistakes, when they play out of their comfort zone. 22 TO's are not surprising, the Kings lead the league in TO's this season, if I'm not mistaken. This issue hasn't been addressed/fixed since the beginning of the season. I blame no one but the coach or the system he's been running.I am not even a fan of Karl...

We HAD WCS and Morlad. One got a few min a night and the other collected splinters until their injuries. Would they have mad a difference? don't know but they do play D and Karl had little use for them. He's right we have no damn defensive players its really bad

Wow George, you really hit on it IMO with these two zingers.

You mean like that play Karl ran to end tonights game?
