One of the better, more exciting pre-season games in awhile. I do...

LOVE THIS TEAM!

If every game is even 2/3rds as fun to watch as this one, it will be a good reason regardless of how many games we win or lose.

Why did Artest have the ball there. Hehehe!

We really needed one more time out. Fun game. Nicely played.

That was a fun game. Lot's of room for improvement, but the defense was definitely better and I thought the energy was good.

Well, we won pre-season with Dallas last year, and that didn't help. So I'm not that worried with the loss this year. :)

That was a heckuva fun game to watch, and I wish your Kings luck in the upcoming season. If Miller, Martin, RonRon and co. play with the kind of intensity that they seemed to possess tonight, I can't help but imagine that things will be looking up for y'all this year...

Fun game.

Need better rebounding.

Wanted to see some of the young guys like Watkins since from what I've heard the coaching staff likes him a lot.

Our rookie NBA coach made a mistake that cost Kings a decent chance to win at the end. He should have saved that last 20 second time out that he wasted with around 4-5 mins. left in the game. Reggie is a sharp and fast learner - so I don't think he'll make that mistake again.

Kinda reminded me of the Cal - Oregon St. football game when the Bears coach was without a time out as final few seconds ran down after his freshman QB was tackled with no chance to get field goal unit lined up and possibly tie the game and win in overtime.

Thanks, Matt! At this point, I think most Kings fans are just happy not to be unhappy, if you know what I mean...

This was a great game plain and simple. The Kings looked energized and focused. The defense was great and they really took the fight to the Mavs. I don't know what Coach Theus has done with this Kings but so far he has done an excellent job and I look foward to seeing what this team will look like during the regular season. GO KINGS!!! :)

Thanks Evilmav2. I'd wish the Mavs good luck, but I don't think they'll need much luck to do really well. :)

Good D tonight

Good effort. Good rotations. Fun game.

The small ball makes sense to me, just like Reynolds was saying. If you can't rebound, you might as well get the small guys in there to do other things.

I really like Douby's progress so far. I'd like to see him close some more games in the preseason in order to get the experience. It's going to be very interesting to see how Theus distributes the Bibby/Douby minutes. When the regular season starts teams are going to be exposing Bibby's D, just like they always do. I wonder if Theus starts going to Douby more because of that.

Still see Bibby struggling for most of the game with his shot. Apparently he can only shoot when it really matter, which I like. Someone needs to hypnotize Bibby into thinking its the last 2 minutes in the game for the entire game. He'd drop 40 a night.

Funny how this game stopped being a preseason game very fast. Didn't see either coach go very deep into the bench. Definitely a statement was meant to be made here. I'm just not sure what it could be other than we won minus freethrows...

Observations:
Miller really is moving better
J Williams has a ways to go...has to be able to shoot FT's
Mikki Moore has been just ok but I like his length in there with Brad
We played some tough team defense...very cool
Salmons should start at SF when Artest is out for the 7 games
Cisco had a tough night but had a great block on Dirk
Was that really Darvin Ham playing for Dallas?
Artest is a beast down low
Didn't miss KT at all

Overall we thought it a really good effort for only the 3rd preseason game. Both teams played like it was a regular season game and then some. Great energy level from Kings as well as much improved D. It's early yet but that was an encouraging game.

Cisco really didn't do well. Missing easy lay ups and free throws. In the 3 games so far Justin hasn't done much either. Really hope that they improve to the standard we expect them to be! Great game anyhow, we would have owned had we not missed them free throws. It's always the free throws isn't it.

Cisco and Justin both had weak offensive games, but they played very good defense. Just to look at one obvious aspect, in a combined 20 minutes of PT, they made 4 blocks, while the rest of the team combined for 3 blocks in 220 minutes. In a game that we almost won because we held the Mavs to 43% shooting, one shouldn't overlook defensive contributions.

I see the Kings have improved their rebounding. They got out rebounded by 15.

Someone tell me why they signed Mikki Moore??? This guy is TERRIBLE.

You going to blame Moore for the rebounding woes? I actually like his defense. Although he's not a shot-blocker, I think his length does at least help on penetration. If you put in KT to rebound then we have shortcomings somewhere else. If you put Justin in to rebound then you have to live with his average defense and young mistakes. Moore is the best option right now....meaning we will have a hole to fill at some point in time. I think Moore will get better as he acclimates.
