Keep in mind Collison still only has 2 fouls, so he'll play a lot of minutes in the second half. Once again, a similar strategy to Denver, another running team: let your second unit keep it close as long as you can and save your legs for second half/fourth quarter.

I might be wrong, but I think Malone's strategy with Ray McCallum in this early part of the season is to keep him stashed on the bench as his change of pace secret weapon in the second half.

I continue to be nonplussed by Sessions. I'm not sure how much longer you run him until you realize developing Ray McCallum is a better option.

The level of quit in this team shows the change in mentality. They didn't get frustrated getting down bug early. They put their freaking heads down, rolled their sleeves up to their freaking necks, and chipped away going into the half. Nice to see.

We have played with zero energy and two of our top 3 players have not showed up yet for various reasons and we are only down 3 I will take that any day of the week, on top of that Suns been lights out we just need to give Cousins and Landry the ball in the post they are sizzling in the paint.

it was all off air. they were telling each other that nik stauskas was better than ben mclemore. then they said mclemore has a pretty shot but doesn't know how to play (how to get open, how to dribble, how to play, etc).
It's pretty fair - Stauskas is further along on the learning curve in terms of basketball acumen. McLemore, however, is starting to put it together.

Casspi seems like he would be a better option to guard one of the Morris Twins, have Rudy Gay on the other. Maybe run Ray Mac + Collison at guard positions and see how that goes.

There is still a great chance to win this game, Cousins has only shot the ball four times. Also, the referees have been terrible for both sides. I am worried about Isaiah Thomas, has he even scored a point yet?

I think his strategy with Ray is to start the veteran until it clearly is a failure. I don't think it's a clear failure yet. Give Sessions a chance.

It's kind of like baseball though. The guy can't lose his spot after only a few games. after 10-15 games, yes. But it's part of an overall coaching strategy that shows trust in your players, and everybody get's a bit tighter. When you pull a guy's spot for having a short bad run, it damages the whole teams trust in the coach. When the poor play is consistent and long enough, then you pull him, when it's clear he's severely holding the team back.

It's easy for us to spot poor play and say "SIT THE MAN DOWN!!" but we're not managing the relationships with the players and the team like Malone is. Let's show some faith in our coach and give him some space to operate. Please, have your opinions, just realize that coach Malone is working with a different set of circumstances, that include long term relationships.

Wow, is it true that they said, "he hasn’t got a heart," and that "he doesn’t know how to get open, doesn’t try to get open, doesn’t know how to play the game."

Stauskas looked over matched against Denver the past two games, but he's having a breakout game today. Ben hasn't been bad tonight on either end though. Those Phoenix announcers are drawing their conclusions based on one half of basketball.

I know Collison's only played 6 minutes, but he's yet to take a shot. I think he's going to need to score a bit. Their whole D is set to deny Gay and Cousins and rough them up in the paint. Guards have to win this, whether by creating a shot for those two or scoring on their own.

I'm guessing there's going to be major half time adjustments.
