GAME 1: Monarchs @ LA Sparks

#31
My only gripe with the game was the stretch where they were playing not to lose, rather than continuing their up-tempo game. I think that was what let the Sparks get back in it.

However, I'm glad it wasn't a blowout, because they might have let down tomorrow night. Now they've seen the light at the end of the tunnel and know exactly how to get there.

GO MONARCHS!!! GET IT DONE!!!

I watched the post game interviews (Coach Whiz, Yo, and Coach Bryant) today. Yeah, Yo has quite a cold, but she said as long as she could tie her shoelaces, she would be on the court.

HoopMatron, I am with you in that I am glad it was not a blowout. Too easy to come home and think that (with their 15-2 home record) it would be a cake-walk. Now they know that they must push for 40 min against talented teams or they can take it away from you.

Reina, great job, girl!!!!

I agree. It was a great game, but there are still things to work on. Keep your focus for Friday, and hope Houston can do something tonight.

I would have rather have had a blowout, because they let the Sparks have some confidence that if they make some adjustments they can come in and steal a couple at ARCO because they know they came come back when the Monarchs lull out. If they have a team on the ropes deliver the goshdarn knockout punch, don't take the TKO eight rounds later. In a blowout, a sick Yo and the players who logged a lot of minutes could have taken some more of that game off and they could come out and bust their chops to start game 2.

I trust the leadership that Yo has shown, and have a hard time thinking Yo would have let this team come home and not pushed just as hard. She seems to watch film after wins and losses and expects perfection as much as Whiz seems to. What I was more fearful of was any thought they might have that they did not really have to win at Staples because they were so dominant at home.

What a game!!!! It was great being at Arco with other fans watching this one.

I tried so hard not to start the nail-biting. Monarchs were great at times. The turnovers really hurt them. Holdsclaw was clutch, what a player. Thank-you Leslie for missing 2 sure shots, were those Arco rims???

We'll miss you MBF on Friday so cheer real loud from where ever you are....we'll be listening!

Can't wait for Friday....lets blow them out!!!

15-2 at home....we can do it!

Go Comets...

Dont know where to put this so it will go here...

GO Comets...

They pull out a squeeker in the Emerald City.

SO if we take care of business tomorrow night, Which I have no doubt we will then, we are a far more rested team.

One more day to get DeMya some rest also.

Fun Stuff...
