The agent for Milwaukee Bucks center Dan Gadzuric said Monday that Gadzuric intends to resign with the Bucks later this month.

The deal is a six-year pact worth $36 million.

"We are committed to signing with the Bucks when the moratorium [on signing contracts] is lifted," said Bob Myers, Gadzuric's agent with SFX.

Free agents cannot officially sign contracts until July 22, which the league office has scheduled as the first day the NBA's new labor agreement takes effect.

Retaining Gadzuric is the latest move in a Milwaukee spending spree that has resulted in verbal commitments from star swingman Michael Redd and the Los Angeles Clippers' Bobby Simmons, the NBA's reigning Most Improved Player.

Gadzuric averaged 7.3 points, 8.3 rebounds in 22 minutes per game for the Bucks last season.

6 years? How old is he? I pronounce his last name, and it sounds so Yugoslavian but then I look at his player file and he's from Netherland and he looks black.. Weird.

This is not a bad move. I've always liked his style of play. Aggressive, just needs to work on conditioning.

He's 28.

And that's the beauty of America -- all a bunch of mutts. ;)

I'm half Korean and Filipino but I have a white guy last name (passed from marriage) and I have Spaniard blood lines.

im black and my last name is hopkins.... where my father, grandfather or whoever got that name is beyond me.... my great grand-daddy probably stole it.... he was a hustla, ask about it... lol....

To get back to Gadzuric...

I'm a little disappointed in this one. I was holding out secret hope that Petrie might be able to grab him. I think he would have adapted nicely to our style of play...

Oh, well. Another one bites the dust.

Gadz grabs all the rebounds, it is so frustrating sometimes.

Knew there had to be something wrong with him -- we don't do rebounds. ;)

Rebounding is for the peons.

His mother is Serbian and his father is Dutch. His parents were never really married (I think) so he took his mother's last name. He is very close to his Serbian heritage and I believe he is a dual citizen. He considered playing for S&M national team, but knew that realistically he has a better chance if he played for the Dutch.

I tried looking up the article where I read all this, but couldn't find it.

I can't be sure, but I think the dual citizenship is Dutch -- he was born in Holland.

Yeah I would have liked to see him here, but not for that price tag to be a backup for Brad!

I wish I could resign from my job and get 36 million. How bad was his contract that they were willing to buy him out for 36 mill?
