My thoughts exactly with this and whatever is going on with Tyreke, just ugh love to end this season now.

i agree, can't wait for the season to be over.. this season has not been fun to watch. so far, its PW with the musical chair shuffling of the line up. disgruntled players that don't know what their position are. the knee jerk discipline and public outing of the players.

The Kings aren't going to send DeMarcus Cousins to the D league. Is Cousins suffering growing pains his first year in the NBA? Yup. Is Westphal, much like a parent of a heastrong teenager, at times very frustrated with his young star? Yup again. Is this whole thing pretty much only getting ink because the team is playing so poorly and finding such unique and original ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? Yup, yup, yup.

Cousins needs a mentor, someone who has gone through it and can help him to understand just what's going on. My choice would be Webber, but I can't see him taking the cut in pay to do it.

Cousins needs to grow up...and the Kings need to find a way to help him without breaking his spirit or giving in to his occasional misdeeds. I believe this will all work out but it's gonna take a lot of patience on both sides to get through it.

I swiped this off Big Cuz 15's offering. It's a good investment in the future. Unfortunately Evans and Cousins are teetering. I hope they get their acts together. Hopefully they will get back to playing good basketball and forgeting the rest of the stuff. If they keep going in the direction they're heading they won't even be worth anything in a trade. In the meantime give Petrie and Westphal a raise for having to deal above and beyond the call of duty.

I watch tons of college ball, mostly during the conference and natl tourney season. I've seen a lot this season, just nobody really sticks out as that WOW type player we'd be looking for with our potential draft status.

But, once again it looks like the top players will come from the freshman class. And unfortunately, its alway hard to find a truely polished player thats just finished highschool. But trust me, one of those guys will end up being a star. From what little I saw of Irving he looks like the real deal to me. My guess is that he'll stay another year at Duke. But you never know. You have to be impressed with Walker and what he's done so far this year.

The hard part with judging college players is that sometimes they're surpressed by the system they're being forced to play in. Look how many people overlooked Landry Fields in the last draft.

Obviously we've been rebuilding through the draft the last 2 years, but at what point do you give more consideration to using that pick to acquire someone else. I haven't watched enough college ball this season to make that determination.

I like Walker a lot..I'm also liking whatever I've seen from that big dude Sullinger from OSU. Hell I really like the recently suspended Pullen. I don't think its too early to talk college ball however I do think its too early to know what we are gonna be looking for in this upcoming draft. There are a lot of guys who have potential to be nice roleplayers like Fields in this draft this year, just no Walls or Griffins.

I'm hoping we can land ourselves a polished poised 3rd or 4th yr player who's NBA ready like Fields or Dajuan Blair this year.

So it's probably going to be tough to get anybody that most Kings fans will get excited about. Also, we all know the last time Petrie made a major trade on draft day - never.

Sorry to respond so late. Been packing and then traveling back to lovely Ensenada, where I might add, it is sunny and 70 degrees today. But to answer your question, yes, I would do a deal like that if the player would be a difference maker. Potential is one of those deadly words that actually means the player hasn't done anything yet, to quote Vince Lombardi I believe. But for the right player, sure! Why not. A bird in hand is better than two in the bush. to quote, hmmm, a starving cave man I guess.

On the other hand, if you convinced that there's someone out there in the draft thats a so called sure thing, and you have a ton of cap space, you might be better off keeping the pick and then adding through freeagency, or one financially one sided trades.

Never said its too early to talk college ball. I love college ball. I said its too early to come to any conclusions on who we might pick. And it is.

You can always deal the player later if you need to, and its necessary. There are going to be a lot of freeagents, not nearly as many teams with money to spend. Whether some of the freeagents like it or not, they may not have many options.

Just listened to an interview with Ric Bucher, probably misspelled, on ESPN radio. He was talking about the Bulls and the fans impatience there for aquiring a SG to fit with Boozer and Rose. He didn't mention the Kings, but what he said about the Bulls and the Thunder could certainly apply. He said to not wait till after the new CBA to make their major moves would be just plain crazy. . He said there are going to be players like Jason Richardson etc. available for much less than they are now. He said some teams like the Heat, Lakers, Celtics, Magic, etc. will probably be having fire sales to unload salaries. Role player type players will be beating on the doors of the teams with the money.

He expects teams like the Lakers and Magic to take a step backwards and the young teams that are under the cap to take steps forward. I don't know if I agree with everything he said, but I do agree with the general spirit of his conclusions.

Like you, I agree with the general spirit of things, but I think his scenario is way too extreme. The cap might not be as soft as it is now after the new CBA, but I think it's a stretch that a hard cap will be in effect immediately.What I think is the most like scenario is that they will reach an agreement to gradually move to a system where it's harder to go over the cap, but there is no way they will be able to nullify existing contracts and they won't be able to force teams like the Lakers to instantly shed $40 million off their payroll. That's just unrealistic. I doubt we will see teams stripping themselves of core players, but yes, the new CBA might give teams with capspace like us a big advantage when it comes to free agency.
