Friar

I wanted to buy back into the draft to draft Dunn but I was well aware of his offense. Makes you wonder if we invest in Cardwell at all can he give anything on that end. By the final summer league games he was at least getting stuff at the rim after looking like an instant TO early.

Seems to be a pretty good buy getting the "Defensive superstar, but sucks on offense" prospect. Herb, Keon, Ryan Dunn. Really because the defense is so damn good and transformative that you just need A thing to keep you on the floor offensively. Herb and Keon obviously with the shooting and secondary playmaking. And Dunn still has to make that leap this season, he was not playable on the offensive end

Too much hate on Carter atm. I wouldn't mind keeping him and seeing him grow. This is basically his rookie year given the fact that he was only able to play 36 games last year. I have a feeling we are going to regret trading Carter for nothing or just as a throw-in...
We will not.

But that's because we won't trade him :-)

I’m indifferent toward him, but I worry about the shoulder and his shot. It’s not a good form and think he brings the ball too low. I don’t expect much from him offensively. Also, I know it’s trivial, but his hair bugs me. I’d be okay not seeing it next season.

I’ll eat crow. I’m buying into his hustle and energy. He’s shown a lot over this last stretch. Definitely intrigued to see what he could bring into next season.

The “THIS KID STINKS / TERRIBLE PICK” narrative is so so stupid. He doesn't, it wasn’t. He’s just getting into the groove of things.
He scored a crap ton of points in a meaningless game against a team that wanted him to score. His future is as a point guard and he had 4 assists.

Carter sole value is ****ing up a tank.

He will be released. No one wants an undersized 2 guard that can’t create shots for others. Everyone in the league is discounting heavily games like last night.

Charity bet $100, he wont be released this off-season.

Going to actually back up one of your takes or run again?

Cardwell, continuing this trend nicely. Hes become passable around the rim in his limited USG, which allows him to stay on the floor and let his elite defense impact games.

The biggest/most encouraging development over the last couple of weeks is seeing Max and Dylan figure out how to play at the same time. Helps that Max has really gotten confident in his face up corner three game and the Kings have played a bunch of teams that play two bigs but long term being able to play them together opens up so many different lineup possibilities that aren’t just four different guards and Domas.

Westbrook is starting and Acuff will eat minuets Carter will be traded the same way ellis was

Westbrook starting next season is it's own stupidity, but the thing is Carter can legit play PG/SG. Ellis wasn't a combo guard so that complicated things. If they don't play Carter it's because they are dumb, pure and simple.

Yeah, I think next year just needs to be nearly all 2 big lineups and just figure it out. Spacing issues, sure, but you also bring some serious advantages with Max or Dylan with Domas.

It's pretty funny. When you follow Carters assist percentage, it disagrees. He's had dips because his role has changed at times along with his opportunity, but on the season he's right in line with both Domas and Monk. Good signs for a young player learning a position.

I think a lot of the issue with Devin has been his inability to stay healthy. Every time he shows out and seems destined for big minutes, he seems to get an injury that sidelines him for a couple of weeks. Its hard to gain momentum in securing a significant role, if he can't stay on the court consistently.

Hopefully he gets stronger and stays on the court more next year. If he can, I can see him carving out a role as the backup PG/SG, defensive 3rd guard.

Carter's defense and ability to spread the floor will look great off the ball with AJ on the point.

And that's what people don't understand. If he can be a Pat Bev, or a Lu Dort, or a Josh Hart, that's what you put around a superstar. Not a PG looking to distribute because if a team needs that then you unfortunately don't have a true superstar. This isn't 15 years ago.

Westbrick/Acuff
Lavine/Monk
Keegan/Nique

Carter won’t get 20mpg next year unless we find someone to take Monk

I think that's why the Kings should really consider moving down if they end up 7-8. They could end up getting a player that isn't any less on potential and save on the rookie contract pay while moving off Monks deal. I would be surprised if they don't buy out LaVine. They could end up saving a little real life dollars and he gets to go somewhere to get his career back on track. Staying with the Kings in a contract year could be a horrible outcome for LaVine.
