I wanted to buy back into the draft to draft Dunn but I was well aware of his offense. Makes you wonder if we invest in Cardwell at all can he give anything on that end. By the final summer league games he was at least getting stuff at the rim after looking like an instant TO early.

Seems to be a pretty good buy getting the "Defensive superstar, but sucks on offense" prospect. Herb, Keon, Ryan Dunn. Really because the defense is so damn good and transformative that you just need A thing to keep you on the floor offensively. Herb and Keon obviously with the shooting and secondary playmaking. And Dunn still has to make that leap this season, he was not playable on the offensive end

Too much hate on Carter atm. I wouldn't mind keeping him and seeing him grow. This is basically his rookie year given the fact that he was only able to play 36 games last year. I have a feeling we are going to regret trading Carter for nothing or just as a throw-in...
We will not.

But that's because we won't trade him :-)

I’m indifferent toward him, but I worry about the shoulder and his shot. It’s not a good form and think he brings the ball too low. I don’t expect much from him offensively. Also, I know it’s trivial, but his hair bugs me. I’d be okay not seeing it next season.

I’ll eat crow. I’m buying into his hustle and energy. He’s shown a lot over this last stretch. Definitely intrigued to see what he could bring into next season.

The “THIS KID STINKS / TERRIBLE PICK” narrative is so so stupid. He doesn't, it wasn’t. He’s just getting into the groove of things.
He scored a crap ton of points in a meaningless game against a team that wanted him to score. His future is as a point guard and he had 4 assists.

Carter sole value is ****ing up a tank.

He will be released. No one wants an undersized 2 guard that can’t create shots for others. Everyone in the league is discounting heavily games like last night.

Charity bet $100, he wont be released this off-season.

Going to actually back up one of your takes or run again?

Cardwell, continuing this trend nicely. Hes become passable around the rim in his limited USG, which allows him to stay on the floor and let his elite defense impact games.

The biggest/most encouraging development over the last couple of weeks is seeing Max and Dylan figure out how to play at the same time. Helps that Max has really gotten confident in his face up corner three game and the Kings have played a bunch of teams that play two bigs but long term being able to play them together opens up so many different lineup possibilities that aren’t just four different guards and Domas.
