Everyone?
Grant left in free agency. Happened all the time then and I don't think it's that big a deal. Indirectly lead to Webber. Maybe in today's NBA we could have kept Rock and traded Grant for Webb. Different time.Fox is absolutely dead to me. I wouldn't boo him on his return but ill wish him no well. How's the finger by the way, miraclesly healed?
Last guy that I believed dissed the franchise like this was Brian Grant. Also wished him no well.
I understand some of these folks have privileged fan relations with the players but damn maybe listen to the players who have genuine personal relationships with their teammates. Kings aren't going to do a tribute to the guy that nuked their season while they fight for their playoff lives. If they do I will be disappointed. He can come back in retirement on his hands and knees if he wants to be part of Sacramento.
A vocal minority but maybe not in the direction this guy thinks.
More so how he left, not the fact that he left.
Apologies if I don't make that clear in my response.
As I said, there are different ways to handle situations and still achieve the same outcome.
Its all good, we can disagree on the way people conduct themselves and still both be right. I'm alligning to what I see as important as are you and that's OK, I'm not here to try change or tell you how to feel. Trust me, I'm not that into myself to suggest there's only 1 way to feel and mine is the right one
Just cause we don't agree doesn't make it unresonable or too much, it's just a different opinion to yours
Peace
DLO showing some incredible professionalism right now. He wants to send Fox to the shadow realm so badly.
Really starting to be revealed here how big of an impact this whole scenario was. Fox really held this franchise hostage.
Fox would have been better off saying nothing.
Kings insider civil war incoming
Deleted whatever it was
The rest of the world is catching on.
You're doing yeoman's work, but I appreciate the effort. Even if I think it's ultimately falling on deaf ears.If "agree to disagree" is where we're at there's nothing I can say to that. The only reason I'm even trying to argue the other side on this is because hatred seems more and more to be the default emotion in the world and I hope people understand that this is a choice that you're making. Us and Them are just words. The only meaning they have is the one you give to them. There's a lot of other events going on in the world that are outside the scope of this community which have been taking most of my attention lately. One of my friends lost basically everything he owns in the fires down here in So Cal two weeks ago. The other events I'm not going to talk about here... I'm just trying to offer a different perspective. What healthy role is hating a human being (or some human beings) that you don't know over basketball playing in your life?
Because whatever you think about Fox's actions toward this franchise or his former teammates, he didn't do anything to you. This is all by proxy. And teams lie to their fans ALL THE TIME. For example, I hated Jason Giambi for 20 years because he betrayed "us" and signed with the Yankees and it turns out Oakland never even offered the guy a new contract. They just let him take the heat on that, literally for decades. I'm not taking anybody's word for data. Especially not when it comes filtered through dozens of middle men (and women) with their own agendas. Klutch Sports' whole deal is about empowering players to take control of their own careers. I'm 100% in favor of that even if in this case it's turned out quite poorly for the team that I choose to root for. C'est la vie.
I never obsessively watch former players once they're traded. I'll tell you this much though, I'm far less likely to EVER watch Fox just to see how he is doing on the Spurs (or any potential future team) now that his comments have come out than I probably was before he decided to flap his gums.I...just don't really care one way or another at this point. He's gone. Playing for another team. I don't get the obsessive watching of how former players do on another team. My focus is the Kings. Not the Spurs.
Is that right? Do tell. It's falling on deaf ears because we all have the right to process this how we grieve as fans. Nobody is telling anyone (here at least) that they must hate Fox or feel the same way, but a few folks are insisting those of us who do are wrong for doing so.
Not everyone here is a Kings fan.I...just don't really care one way or another at this point. He's gone. Playing for another team. I don't get the obsessive watching of how former players do on another team. My focus is the Kings. Not the Spurs.
My son watches a LOT of sports (basketball and football, primarily) of all different teams. I have no interest. If the Kings or 49ers are playing, you bet. I like going to watch the Sharks and SF Giants and RiverCats (and, now that they are local, probably an occasional A's game). But I'm certainly not tuning into a Diamondbacks vs. White Sox game, or Nuggets-Magic, or Raiders-Bills, or whatever. I have absolutely no interest.I won't be watching games that don't involve our team. I guess on an off chance they play a national tv game vs. the Blazers or Celtics but probably not unless it's playoffs. I just don't really care beyond I wish he would just shut up and play instead of poking back at Sacramento.
Oh, I get that. I'm not saying those people are wrong. I'm just saying that I personally don't get it when the team I like isn't playing. Not everyone here is a Kings fan.
Kings are probably the one team I watch of mine when they are dog poop, because frankly they've always been. I watch every sport so if my teams are having a down year I probably flip to something that won't give me chest pains. My son watches a LOT of sports (basketball and football, primarily) of all different teams. Same thing here. If they are off the team, I just don't care.
Yeah, but you've told me before that you might not even watch the NBA period, if the Kings weren't in Sacramento, so you're kind of more of a Sacramento fan than you are even a sports fan. I wouldn't necessarily call that an optimal point of view, either. My son watches a LOT of sports (basketball and football, primarily) of all different teams. I have no interest. I used to watch a few games here and there before the Kings arrived (Lakers, Celtics, etc., whatever was on TV because the games were pretty rare), but you are generally correct. I support the local teams. If there isn't a local team, I might catch a few games here and there, but generally don't watch anything with regularity.Yeah, but you've told me before that you might not even watch the NBA period, if the Kings weren't in Sacramento, so you're kind of more of a Sacramento fan than you are even a sports fan. Fair enough. I just couldn't imagine myself rooting for, like, the Hawks, because "geography."I guess everyone's opinion of "optimal" depends on their own experiences and approach to sports.
It’s definitely not pretty how Fox went about leaving the Kings but at least we got something in return and for now it looks pretty decent.Grant left in free agency. Nobody did us this dirty before. Especially not someone who was catered to, had stars not drafted or traded for, etc. etc. or was as universally beloved by the fanbase.
There's been ugly exits but fans hated those guys anyways.
