I mean this would definitely be a HEALTHIER approach.

But to be fair, I did say I was going to be bringing the salt today earlier in this thread! Not sure how much longer I'll bother bringing the salt, because honestly I'd rather root for the Kings than root against Fox.

But today is for pettiness!
 
Hawks still in this in spite of a bunch of lazy passes and awful 3s by Trey. Definitely feels like Spurs should be up at least 20

I only ever hear arguments suggesting that it shouldn't count coming from people who want to diminish the people who won it. I am not one of those people.

EDIT - Oh, and incidentally, the Hawks got to the eastern conference finals in 2021. They were most definitely not playing in "high school gyms" that year.
 
Incredibly jarring how silent the Atlanta broadcast seems compared to our very own broadcast with never ending talking and stories

Honestly, I dont care one way or another. I don’t care for Fox or Trae. But are equally robins needing to be carried by a savior

Some of y'all are too much. Fox is also from Texas, it's not like this idea comes from way out in left field. And aren't we the team that brings cowbells to the arena?

Man, you're trying to reason people out of takes they didn't reason themselves into. I'm just trying to be positive about Fox, and let (most of) the negativity be what it is.
 
Don’t think ATL gets this challenge but nice effort by Okongwu to attempt the impossible (block Wemby)
 
Fox 24pts 13assists, and again full of smiles and laughs in the interview after the game. He did well having Daniels guarding him, felt a bit like revenge game. It's a "luxury" to have Wemby being there for you in those clutch moments. He did ask for the ball many times at the end but wasn't given to him, seemed a bit frustrated with Wemby settling for many 3 point shots late in the game (from body language, didn't make any gestures, I would be frustrated too).
I am not sure the duo with CP3 will work that well, there will be stronger opponents than the Hawks in the next games.

Fair point. But I do think I'm mostly talking to reasonable people so the effort isn't entirely pointless? I hope?

I'm trying to stay out of this for the most part but maybe I'll make one more plea for deference instead of vitriol. We all know "NBA Player" is a job and yet somehow diplomat, humanitarian, public relations expert, and diehard loyalty to a city for which your only connection is arbitrary draft randomness all get folded in. Padrino made a good post about this in the trade thread... The idea that any professional athlete is playing for us and not themselves is a delusion we willingly enter into. Most of us, I believe, know that it is a delusion but it's a relatively harmless one so we allow it to take on the appearance of reality. I wonder if more than anything people are mourning the abrupt jolt of reality replacing the delusion? Fox selling shoes for us is a good thing but selling shoes for his own profit makes him a snake? I haven't gotten my Under Armour royalty check yet...

In this case it may be easy to blame the player as the cause of our momentary discomfort but Mike Brown didn't ask to be fired, and a lot of ya'll cheered that decision. Harrison Barnes didn't ask to be traded this summer. DeMar signed a 3 year contract with the understanding that he would be teammates with Fox and coached by Mike Brown and now he has no choice but to honor that commitment to a team which didn't honor his. This goes on and on for however far you want to look back. Is it really that difficult to just accept it and move on?
