for those who are caught up in what DeMarcus said to Grant after the game

Oh, how nice. Grant having a smack-down contest with Cousins.

Interesting that Ailene Voisin tweeted that Cousins made an entirely different comment, one that Grant didn't have a retort for. Sorry, but if Napear had said that, the mics would have picked it up.

she was talking about a seperate thing. where Barnes was cursing at a fan and cousins commented on it

It sure looked like the timing between the two incidents was almost parallel. Are you saying Cousins made two separate comments to Grant within a very short period of time?

the comment Voison was talking about wasnt made to Grant (it just said he made a comment to a media member)
also from what i read, it was during the 3rd quarter

Im on the edge of my seat waiting for the next time Cousins says something that could possibly be construed as hostile after finagling what was actually said. In the meanwhile ill be watching E true hollywood gossip and reading the most gossipy magazine that i can possibly find whilst crocheting in my daily afternoon sewing circle that I enjoy for all of the juicy gossip that the gals exchange.

GAWD! I know right!!! Such great gossip! Its like, Grant...OMG...Dish!!!

this is one big pile of "meh." grant is a notorious firebrand on his radio show, and the last couple of seasons he's used his half-baked shock-jock persona to target the kings' potential franchise center. if you're the clear-cut most talented player on your team, trying your best to improve, meeting nothing but resistance in your path, finding little support from your organization, and one of the personalities who publicly represents the kings on tv and radio is laying into you on a daily basis, wouldn't you take it personally? i would. i have no problem with demarcus giving grant a little pushback. he lives to prove people wrong. it's what drives him, and if he stays driven (with the help of improved circumstances once the sale of the team is completed), it's the kind of motivation that could catapult him in the direction of stardom...

I started to think that this was an odd circumstance with Napear getting into a tiff with a player, since generally when he starts throwing a guy under the bus it's a clear sign that that player is getting moved and he has marching orders from on high. Clearly that can't be the case here since the trade deadline has passed and obviously he has no knowledge of what either potential ownership group plans to do or if he'll even be employed by the franchise after this season.

But then I recalled him getting into it with a few other players in the past. Remember him questioning the extent of Bobby Jackson's abdominal injury? Really bizarre. And if memory serves he and CWebb had bad blood before Webber was traded, with that just intensifying things.

Look, DeMarcus has some obvious issues and quite honestly they have to be addressed for him to have any chance of being part of a winning team especially since right now his teammates can't even depend on him to not lose his cool or get ejected on a night to night basis. That trust level needs to be there for DMC and this team to grow. But technical fouls, ejections, even yelling at Sean Elliot (possibly his most egregious offense thus far) all pale in comparison to DUIs, domestic abuse charges, bar fights, drug busts and other off the court transgressions that seemingly get swept under the rug if a guy can play and seem like a good guy on the court. Napear needs to let his personal vendetta drop and cut the kid some slack.

I was going to comment, but I believe you said it all. Well done!

As I recall, Grant wasn't exactly a big fan of Artest with his domestic abuse, dog abuse, and overall whackiness. He was pretty shocked when they traded for him. Olden Polynice was another guy that he had issues with. Wasn't Polynice the guy who had a physical altercation with Grasswich? Maybe others can provide light on that one. He got on Bobby J pretty good because he thought Bobby was not playing due to "injury" when Grant thought he really could be playing; he thought Bobby was doing so because he was to be a FA next year and didn't want his stats to go down so he would get a worse contract. I think Grant stuck his neck out there and subsequently recanted.

interested to see what Grant says about it when his show starts today.

either that DMC was out of line and its further proof he's crazy.
or that he was joking around and DMC is a good guy and it shows good character if he can joke around with Grant after Grant has been bashing him for a week on air

Well said.

Are we talking about Officer Polynice? :D Don't leave out C Webb, who he got on for numerous reasons. Even right from the beginning when Webb said he didn't want to play for the Kings. I believe he accused Corliss of dogging it with an injury once. Of course Grant does have great insight to whats real and whats not. He just has them reversed, thats all.

I don't care what DMC's intent was. I think Grant needs to remember that what he says affects real people and one of them sees him at every TV broadcast.

ya he should not be bashing DeMarcus like he does. we all know the guy has some issues, why fuel the fire?

I hope next season the new sacramento management gets us a new media crew as well. I love Jerry and hope the new arena court is dedicated to him because he is Mr. Kings after all but I think it's time to move on especially from Grant. CM DAVE would be my pick for the color commentary personally.

I second that emotion regarding Carmichael Dave. Team him up with a skilled young play by play guy and that's a winning combo.

My word. That would be an abject failure. Dave may be many things but a basketball color commentator, he is not.

he obviously has a bone to pick with him and trying to push him out. if anybody has ever called khtk during their shows, they screen you before putting you on the air. he probably has all the ppl that want to discuss trading dmc put on the air. it's sickening. i can't listen to the show anymore.
