The ESPN post game is showing clips of Avery on the side line signalling time out to call time out and all of the announcers are laying the blame on Johnson for possibly causing the inexperienced Howard to call time out at the wrong time.
From the low-angle replay, it appeared that the Mavs stayed away from Wade, especially Dirk, yet he was the one who got the foul.
Of course, to be fair, Dirk got a call like that in the series vs. the Spurs, so it's not as if the Mavs haven't been on the other end of a late game foul that allowed the game winning shots to be taken from the free throw line.
And Wade was the aggressor all night. Couple that with the fact that he's a superstar (or fast becoming one), and he's going to get those calls.
I don't agree. It was pretty clear that he was fouled IMHO.
It was not the kind of foul that should be called at the end of a game. I hate it when the officials decide a game and not let the players decide the outcome. Under 20 secs left a foul that isn't blatant--the refs should have swallowed their whistles.
And I disagree...
The refs were pretty consistent throughout the game. An aggressive player driving the lane like that is going to get the call. The amount of time left on the clock shouldn't enter into it at all.
Howard definalty earns a NBA bone head award tonight. And Yes Dirk's little tantrum was fun... hope he gets a nice little fine for kicking the ball into the stands but dout that will happen.
LOL... here? At Mavs hater central? I doubt it. Maybe on Mavs forums. I am neutral on both teams, I thought it was pretty impressive how the Heat battled back and don't think the refs are responsible for anything - the Heat weren't shooting well from the line and there were calls like that lane violation that cost the Heat a possession.so do alot of people consider this a "tainted" win for the heat then?
Well we will have to agree to disagree. That was a pretty soft foul.. the announcers didn't even think the call was going on Dirk..they had trouble figuring out "who" fouled..so it seems obvious it was a ticky tack foul call. I don't believe that NO MATTER how much you hate the Mavs that a game at the very end should ever be decided by the officials. I do not have a dog in this fight, but I think it is a shame that such a great game..in overtime, under 20 secs should be decided by the officials. Let the players do that...

Did Artest get fined or suspended for chucking the video equipment when he was with Indiana a couple of years ago?
I only watched 4th quarter and OT and it is the biggest robbery since WCF 2002. Why play a game in which the winner is known up front ? This isn't sports anymore. It is a rag.
The "Grand Conspiracy Enclave" of refs didn't make Dirk, Dampier and Howard (at least I think it was Howard) miss those critical free throws at the end that would have probably sealed the deal for the Mavs.
