Isn't Jalen Green a core piece for yall? Green/Amen/Sengun?

I'd say Reed and one of Tari/Jabri would be the most expendable pieces yall have. Those 2+picks seems like the most reasonable route here.
No the reason we want Fox is because Green hasn't developed into that perimeter threat we expected him to be. But he's 22, who's just very inconsistent.(I mean he's had 2 30 point games vs the Pelicans with Herb Jones guarding him, there's talent there) But if we want to compete vs OKC (right now) it's about upgrading Jalen.
Another issue is Jalen has a poison pill contract

But I think Tari is probably more highly rated that Jalen atm

Alperen & Amen are definitely untouchable. Then I'd guess Tari.
Cam & Reed are both 20 & just hurt by our depth. Haven't really got a chance. But very highly rated.

I would do it but not sure the Rockets would.
There's definitely a part of our organisation that wants to see how this team does in the playoffs. See who can hang & who can't before making big changes like trading away core pieces

But if we there is an appetite for a trade tomorrow. Then we would definitely do that package. Alperen Amen & Tari I expect are the 3 untouchables.

Interesting, good info.

So you think the org values Eason over Jabari? Is it the defense? I figured one of those guys would be great trade fodder just because neither guy can be a long-term starter at the same time and probably can't afford to pay both.

It's defence & Playmaking
Tari is already an elite defender, damn near everywhere. Jabari is an elite rim protector esp for his position but only average elsewhere.
Plus
Tari can get his own shot. Jabari hasn't shown that.

Ime has compared Tari to Kawhi. Expectations are quite high on him. He could be anywhere from Jonathan Isaac to OG Anunoby to Kawhi Leonard.

But unfortunately like all of them he's been having some injury issues.

Tari could in theory play the 3. If we keep both. But financially I think we can only keep 4-5 of the core 7 long term, unless the 2nd apron gets scrapped.

Here’s the deal, Fox is better than every single player on the Rockets. Nitpicking on some of the players because the team wants to see where they go is short sighted. The Kings will look elsewhere as there will be no shortage of teams to negotiate with.

No offence but I can't see any team beating that package

No other team minus Spurs & OKC have the assets we have.
OKC won't join

Spurs have more picks
We have better young players

So really down to whether you want bad contracts & more DPs (Spurs) or young players & a few DPs (Rockets)

It feels like the Kings aren't ready for a full tear down. So Rockets is the way to go imo.

What if the Magic offered up Franz Wagner and a pick? This is just spitball8ng
What if Toronto Or Portland offered up a combination of young players and picks?
My point is a team like Houston shouldn’t nitpick….saying Tari is being compared to a young Kawhi is laughable.
There will be other teams out there

Tari being compared to a young Kawhi is just as laughable as Keegan being compared to a young Kawhi.

Beauty in the eyes of the beholder.

Lmao magic would accept fox and a pick for Franz let alone us asking for a pick back

Magic aren't giving up Franz for Fox
Be realistic lol
For Franz you'd need to give up Fox & unprotected 1sts

Show me any combination of young players & picks that the Raps or Blazers can put together that beats the package I said. They don't have anyone worth reading for.
Our young players are so much better with much higher ceilings.

Look at Tari's BPM & his TS% before his injury started affecting him.
His BPM is still 5.4
Dyson Daniels is doing crazy things in in the steals category & Tari's got better per 36
Tari is a better run protector
Plus as I pointed out before his leg started affecting him again..... He was getting to his spot & scoring efficiently & had improved his scoring at the rim.
Obviously very early & in so few mins but we aren't trading Tari.

Franz was quite a bit better than Fox this year. I don't see them even offering Franz straight up for Fox. Damn them for taking him one pick ahead of us in 21. He was the "safe" pick that year but I don't think any of us thought he would be this good. We thought he'd be more like Joe Ingles than a 24ppg scorer.

Thanks for the unblock.

My post revolved around what a Kings / Rockets trade would be

Seems Kings fans are against a full tear down
So I was wondering the opinion on
Jalen Green + Jabari Smith Jr + Jock Landale + Jeff Green + Rockets 27 + 29 + Rockets 28 swap.
For
De'Aaron Fox + Trey Lyles + Orlando Robinson + Alex Len

Gives you 2 of our starters who are 22 & 21 & when they're in their prime you get extra DPs to find high quality players at a low cost.
If Monte had that offer and there were no true win now trades that balance the team, he'd be a moron to turn that one down.

Was just trying to give an example……but Fox isn’t a scrub nor is he worse than Franz.

Tari is reliant on someone setting him up,no?

He singlehandedly lost this game but wants to be paid a max contract and is holding the franchise hostage. Trade his ass. Trim the fat.
How is he holding the franchise hostage while being on the last two years of his own contract that the team offered him and agreed to? This is not the same as a player demanding a trade and then not joining the team for games, etc.

He can find his shot & he's confident in it.
But he still needs to improve on making plays for others.

Amen for example is the opposite. He's playmaker for others with the ball in his hand. But Amen's dribble & shooting are still big factors in his confidence to create his own shot.

Both are elite defenders.

Tari is better in the post & offball but Amen is a better point of attack defender. Both are great rim protectors. Inherintly Amen is faster, more athletic & agile. Tari is stronger & a smarter defender imo.
But Amen really affects players who knows he's more athletic than them & that can be intimidating.

@FoxRocketFan I don’t really have any interest in Jalen Green. I’m mainly focused on Thompson, Eason, and Whitmore (with marginal interest in Sheppard). I like VanVleet and Adams from a vet/salary matching standpoint as well.

Having said all of that, would the Rockets be interested in trading for both Fox and Monk?

If I'm honest I'm not even sure our FO wants to do a trade

By accounts there is sections of the FO that want a win now & another that wants to see which of our players can hang in the playoffs & who gets played off the court before making big decisions.
Really depends how Stones sees it

But if we want a win now piece Monk with Fox seems like a perfect fit. We definitely need the shooting & our inconsistent guard play is our big weakness. Monk & Fox would let us play faster which is what Ime wants.
I think we'd do that if the $$$ work & we weren't giving up the farm.
