Like Juwan said.. "that's played out!" LOLGargamel said:Timeout!
ReinadelosReys said:Gosh I loved watching that team play...
Purple Reign said:What made that team special to watch is that they were different and they played with an attitude. Some called it for arrogance, which it probably was. But they were a team. Thast is where I grew to love the game of Chris Webber.
Gargamel said:Attitude that gave way to teams with more substance. Ask Hurley.
4cwebb said:Actually, I'd say ask George Lynch or Eric Montross. That UNC team that beat the Fab Five in '93 (or was it '94?) had more "substance" than Michigan even though they didn't have the attitude. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a cockier player in college than Christian Laettner in his senior year at Duke teamed with Hurley and Grant Hill.
slugking50 said:Atlast Laettner backed it up. The Fab Five were all show. Those Duke teams were mentally tough. I cant say that about the Fab Five though.

Purple Reign said:I will try not to be an apologist here but the Fab Five were freshmen and sophomores. That is the gist of the whole story. I do not have a problem with a bunch of cocky "me against the world" freshmen and sophomores making it to consecutive Final Fours, 2 National Championship game appearances only to lose to Duke the defending national champions with a whole slew of NBA caliber veterans and Carolina who also had a group of establish seniors. I don't think there is any shame in that.
