Yeah, it should be a great tournament. I'm in a position to support 2 teams, since my mother is from Slovenia and my father from Serbia. :D
I will cheer for both of my countries, but in the end I want Serbia and Montenegro to win.

I'm going to Belgrade on Wednesday and I'll watch the Group C games (Slovenia) in Pionir. I wish I could watch the elimination games in the Arena, but I'll have to settle for TV coverage.

There are a few very good teams and I'm not sure SCG can take the tittle back. I don't like how Obradovic is handling the situation. I wish Pesic was still the coach.

I would say that SCG, France, Italy, Lithuania (a lot of players missing) and Spain (no Gasol) are the teams that will compete for gold.
However, there are also dangerous teams like Turkey, Greece, Russia, Germany or Croatia that could cause a surprise.
Basically, almost every team has a chance. It should be fun. :)

In the end, I think Slovenia could surprise a few people in the next 2 weeks. They have a solid team, but they always choke in the quarterfinals. Maybe they can go far this time. I sure hope so!

Anyway, Eurobasket only happens once in 2 years so I can't wait!!!

Vidimo se u Beogradu...

I have a little question. What do you think about Vule Avdalovic (playing for Serbia & Montenegro at PG position) ? Do you think he's a good player or not ?

13 September 2005

Serbia & Montenegro head coach Zeljko Obradovic has cut Aleksandar Pavlovic and Bojan Popovic from his 12-man squad as the hosts make their final preparations for the European Championship.

After a final training game, played behind closed doors against Zeleznik, Obradovic confirmed that Cleveland Cavaliers guard Pavlovic and new Dinamo Moscow playmaker Popovic would not be part of the Blues' party.

"I've informed the players after our last preparation game that Pavlovic and Popovic are not on the list any more," Obradovic said.

"Both of them have more then enough quality to be in our national team, but we can have just 12 players in this competition."

Squad: Marko Jaric, Igor Rakocevic, Vule Avdalovic, Dejan Bodiroga, Milan Gurovic, Vlado Scepanovic, Vladimir Radmanovic, Dejan Milojevic, Dejan Tomasevic, Nenad Krstic, Darko Milicic and Zeljko Rebraca.

Dalibore, about Avdalovic. He was good in Partizan where he obviously was a leader of the team, but he's games for the national team till this moment were pretty bad.

Why don't they play Darko he will give us a boost. The coach is worst national team coach we ever had. I do not care what he has done in the past with his club teams he sucks as a national team coach.
