ESPN NBA Fastbreak

I'm pretty sure most of you agree with me about this.. but i'm getting really tired of them talking about all the other teams and leaving out the Kings. They didnt mention ONE thing nor showed a highlight of the Kings considering they clinched a playoff berth tonight. We basically kicked the Wolves out the playoffs by clinching our position and they dont mention one thing. It just really pisses me off.

hey us Mavs fans complain about the same thing! we also complain about them saying the same old "Mavs cna't play D" when our D has totally improved.

But NUFAN that's ok - let the Kings and Mavs fall under the radars, it only means our respective teams will surprise people come playoff time.

I'm sick of the mtalking about L.A. more than us! C'mon their season is over!
the NBA wont let the lakers miss the playoffs 2 seasons in a row! lakers are the poster child of the NBA..... thats why we are still hearing about them not making the playoffs.....

I could of sworn they mention that, at least. They said ''..and the Kings have clench their playoff berth mainly because of these guys..'' and then they showed highlights of the Nugs beating the Wolves.

I'd rather them say nothing...when they do mention us its almost always something negative or something that will pee all of us off and then we'll complain about that...I rather them not mention us at all than to mention us and say something rude

Unless you are the Heat/Suns/Spurs/Detroit you aren't gonna get any love...thats how it pretty much has been all year

i rarely watch that show anymore. only to catch highlights. the people on that show are really annoying, biased, and not very knowledgeable IMO

Thats what happens when your record isn't anything outstanding and are a middle of the road team. When we win the championship it will be that much sweeter!!!

I think they had them on nba.com though^^
hey cool, they're one of the main stories on the front page also! yay =)

generally i don't like getting highlights from nba.com cuz they make you sign up and last time i checked made you use RealPlayer (ugh).

ESPN uses flash for it's streaming and I've found it very very convenient =D

What you have to understand about these TV "analysts" is that they always want to seem smarter than everybody else, but they always want to make sure they are right. The reason they stick so doggedly to the Front-running elites is that they know they have an excellent chance of being able to say "I told you they'd be the champs!" at season's end. Of course anyone who even casually follows the NBA can identify the elite teams (Miami, SA, Detroit, Phoenix) and it doesn't take any great insight or intelligence to guess who will win.

So, to compensate, they have to accentuate their pronouncements with haughty arrogance to assure their superiority to anyone else who would also pick the Spurs or Miami. None of these cowards would ever go out on a limb for a team like Dallas, Sacramento or Denver. Need proof? How many of the talking head on ESPN, ABC or TNT picked Detroit to beat the Lakers in last years Finals?

I'll point out once again that ESPN makes NOTHING off of programing per say. They make money off of selling add time. So next time you wonder why there is so much focus on irrelevant teams from large markets (NY, LA) just follow the money.

Big market=Big money=Big respect.Until the KINGS wear the RINGS, we're not going to get much more "love" than we're getting now.

I see the Kings on NBA Fastbreak all the time.

Whenever they put together a highlight package to show how well a team or player is doing, about 80% of the clips are Kings gettin' dunked on.

That's something, at least.

LOL I have noticed the same thing about Fastbreak and even NBA adds but I wrote it off to being overly sensitive!

Here's how it happens.

Stern puts in the call to rig the pong balls. Not too suspicious though. Lakers get the 3rd pick instead of the 1st. They select Chris Paul. Starting PG slot filled.

Indy is threatened with an extension to Artest's suspension if they don't trade Bender and their 1st rounder to LA for Slava, George, and a 2nd rounder. The necessary trade bait is there for the following...

Larry Miller is threatened with the "strong possibility" of a franchise relocation if they don't trade Boozer to LA for Butler, Atkins, Vlade and Indy's 1st rounder. Starting PF slot filled.

Stern coerces Marko Jaric's agent to sign with LA for the MLE and assume backup 1/2 duties. He tells Jaric's agent that there will be great external opportunities for Marko to get paid double the MLE (ie: an under-the-table check from the NBA will be cut to Jaric's agent).

1 - Paul
2 - Bryant
3 - Odom
4 - Boozer
5 - Mihm
6 - Jaric
7 - 12 (crap, but nothing that Stern couldn't fix in a couple more years).

Note that most of the big contracts Mitch takes on expire in 2007, including Brian Grant's. When the time comes to clear cap room, Stern helps Mitch pull the trigger on Odom for a collection of decent filler. He then does the agent convincing routine on Amare or Yao.

Therefore, by 2007, the NBA should have the Lakers wrecking shop again. Get on it, Stern!

 (^sarcasm^)
