tonight had many perfect examples of why he needs to be gone. it would not be hard at all to find a coach that will be more successful with this team.

-Benched the starters for WAY too long in the second quarter. 10 point lead dissapeared

-Did it again in the 4th quarter and completely gave the game away.

-playing a certain player big minutes just because the game is in a town where he's VERY popular, is a weak and crappy move that only a weak coach such as Smart would pull.

-blaming the players in the post game pressor. atrocious. how are they supposed to "do what they need to do to finish the game" when they are bench players + Jimmer in against the Jazz starters

-Icing your BEST player for the ENTIRE 4th quarter is the dumbest thing ive ever seen. Tyreke is playing at an amazing level. yet he sits (ill check to make sure Hell hasn't frozen over the first time i see Kobe sit on the bench till the 3 minute mark of a 4th quarter while his teams lead is getting smaller and smaller)

-Coach sayin they didnt give the ball to Tyreke the last couple plays because "the defense was daring him to shoot" is ****ing stupid. he made PLENTY of jump shots tonight. and he was the best playmaker. yet idiot coach would rather have stupid cousins or Brooks give the ball away

The problem is tyreke sat too long in the fourth. He came back in and our lead was gone. Also every time we have the lead in the fourth and we try to kill the clock we always fail to make plays with less than 10 seconds. This team is not good under pressure yet. We have momentum and seems to be working why stop attacking? Keep the flow of the game it was going our direction. ATTACK!!!

Only because the initial plays were either ignored or botched.

We went to high screen and rolls with Cuz and Brooks twice (IIRC) Both times brooks declined to make the bounce pass to cuz, or a skip pass to Tyreke and dribbled back out twice it meant evans going one on one with less than 7 seconds on the shot clock.

The other plays were a cousins missed layup, and a cousins turnover. In between we had 2 needless backcourt fouls by cuz which gave the jazz the lead back.

Say what you want about coaching, and for the record i agree with most of the consternation in that department but it's on the players to execute.

The number of baskets made by the Jazz because the Kings didn't get back on defense was extraordinary. It must have been easily 20+ points allowed because the Kings didn't run the floor. Heck, Al Jefferson of all people was beating Kings down the floor. All that emphasis in the offseason and preseason on getting in shape didn't seem to have much effect in this game.

Two of those coaches were with the Kings! Adelman was here and successful as the head coach. Brooks was right here as an assistant AND he is a local boy from Lathrop!

The transition defense continues to be the team's greatest weakness. It is easy to fix. The Kings came out after half time and still couldn't stop the lay-up drills. The Kings lead the league in foul shots given to other teams. They play defense too much with their hands and not enought with their feet. Tyreke had a great game except he was benched when the team needed leadership. Cousins was MIA except for part of the third quarter. The team played not to lose, instead of to win. They got away from everything they did right the first three quarters. If I were coaching the Kings during a time out in the fourth quarter, I would be setting up plays for Cousins, Evans, and Thornton (or Brooks) down the stretch. This game showed the weakness of Smart in glaring detail in the fourth quarter. He made no adjustments. He assigned no one specific tasks on offense.

The team is lazy. Smart lets them get away with it. (not getting back on defense and playing with the hands instead of the feet is based on desire). Poor defensive rebounding last night falls in the same category. It is hard work but anyone can learn to do it with a high level of effort. That is how I was able to make teams.

Most make sense comment in this thread. And Cuz was really the main problem. No aggressive defense, no rebounding, no real hustling and got pushed out of the way many times or just out of position. If he gets 10 reb, Kings win by 6-8. Coaching a player is wasted if the player does not execute or provide the effort.

Something tells me that this time next year, Randy Wittman will be our next Head Coach.

Smart will get another extension AND a pay rise because he is doing exactly what Magoofs want him to do! He is killing the team so the results are not there, the chemistry is **** and attendances will continue to plummet. He is also jerking around Tyreke to the point where the kid WILL WANT OUT at the end of the season and Magoofs and their lapdogs in the front office will come out with some dribble about wanting players who only want to be here.

No one in their right minds would want to have this mofo as their coach. He is a bull**** artist who can talk the talk but cannot walk the walk. He was never able to walk the walk and never will. Ownership that is committed to winning would not fire this clown as a coach in the first place and sure as hell would have sacked him by now! The problem is, we don't have that ownership.

I am still hoping that those @#$%* sell the team now, a new owner cleans up the front office and as a #1 item on the agenda brings in a real coach.
