Edna Campbell now a high school coach!

While watching KCRA-TV (Channel 3) sports report on last night's news about the Monarchs' folding, there was a brief interview with some girl's b-ball players from high school (can't remember which school, though) and some of the players expressed sadness and disappointment over the franchise being shut down. One of them said that she had a dream to make it as a WNBA player and hopefully playing for the Monarchs. :(

And then, Channel 3 went straight into the next report, which showed brief footage of Monarchs icon Edna Campbell, currently the Head Coach of the girls varsity team at Natomas High School! Cool! And the school is within easy walking distance from my home!

I was not aware she was coaching nowadays! Too bad the report didn't get any comment from her about the Monarchs folding!

So, if anyone is interested, here is her team's schedule:

Thanks, Steven! That's right up the street from me. I had no idea she was there.

You're welcome! I also live within a few blocks from Natomas High School. And I also didn't know she was coaching. The SacBee never mentioned it, and I don't recall seeing any article anywhere that she became a high school coach.

I do know that Edna was in the real estate business for a while, before the market tanked. And I read a brief mention somewhere that she thinking about a career in nursing.

So, to discover that Edna is now coaching at a high school was a quite a suprise! Let's Go, Edna! And...Go Natomas Nighhawks! :)

Edna was in the same class as my sister in Unitek's nursing program. At the graduation ceremony, I noticed her and thought she looked vaguely familiar. My sister later confirmed it was Edna Campbell
