DWill

I wouldn't be so quick to pass on DWill. Every team needs the guy to come off the bench who is instant energy for the crowd. Back in the day, Gerald Wallace filled that role. Now, it appears as though Williams could do the same. Not every player on the roster is a starter. People keep forgetting that we need a vibrant bench if we're going to really be competitive. Williams isn't perfect and it's yet to be seen if Karl can get him to play any defense, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to kick him to the curb. I think he's found his niche here.

I saw an estimate recently that after our rookie, we only have about 9 million in cap space.

That's with 2 minimum players on the roster at under a million assumption.

So we do not have much room.

I'd assume Miller gets some of that.
Minimum contract for Dre is worth $1.8 million. I don't think anyone will outbid this, so Miller shouldn't affect Kings' decision, whether to use cap space or settle on using MLE.

The cap is projected to be $67.4 mil next year via Larry Coon. With Miller, Casspi, Williams, Evans, & Hollins coming off our books, we will have $14.24 mil in cap space.

In a worst case scenario (in regards to cap space), let's say we get the #1 overall pick. This rookie contract would leave us with $9.5 mil in cap space next year. However, let's say we get the 7th pick. In this scenario, we would have $11.92 mil in cap space next year.

We could essentially throw all of our cap space at a big time (or solid) free agent, still have the Room Exception that allows us to go over the cap ($2,732,000/year 1 & $2,855,000/year 2), and then fill out the remaining roster with veteran minimum contracts.

Depends. If you can pick one of he and casspi and get them on the cheap, sure. Still rather have a better fit at backup 3.
