I think this doesn't need it's own thread. But anyway, if both are on the board I'll be extremely p***ed if we don't take MKG. And I also disagree that Drummond is a more tradeable asset. Maybe if you're looking to get Howard, but for other teams, I don't think so. Unless he reaches his potential, in which case you aren't trading him.
MKG is perfect for us. If he's there and GP messes it up due to some incompetent but predictable brain fart, I will not be a happy camper. This draft can go right/wrong in a variety of ways. But if MKG is there, it will take complete ineptitude to miss what is right in front of you. You take him, thank the basketball gods that we got one of the best defenders to come out of the draft in many years at our biggest position of need, and go home. And it's not like he's a scrub offensively. He can do pretty much everything but shoot, and with his work ethic, that will improve.
Don't **** it up, Geoff. It's not hard.
Neither. We got young talent. It's time to go now. Trade it for something useful or lose cousins in two years
MKG will be more than useful. No need to trade it for the sake of it.
MKG or Waiters please. Both project to be lock down defenders who can run the break with the best of them. MKG is taller and plays a position of need but Waiters probably has the better offensive upside. I'll take either of those two if I'm picking... in the end I trust Petrie though. His track record when it comes to the draft is top notch.
I agree that his size is the biggest concern there. He's not much smaller than Wade but he is smaller for sure. He's bigger than Jason Terry and projects as a similar type of combo guard.I only saw Syracuse twice but I thought Waiters was impressive. Of course, given their zone defense I couldn't get a real handle on his defensive potential. He seems to have the athleticism and quick hands to be a good defender, but I don't know if his size would hurt him. Honestly, Waiters scares me. He's not even 6'3" without shoes and while he might work in a starting backcourt with Tyreke if he can guard opposing PGs, when either Thomas or Thornton are in the game it makes for a very undersized backcourt.
I'm not enjoying this draft day. In years past it has been exciting to wait to find out who the Kings take, what trades they make and what direction the team might be headed in. But this year, with the Maloofs showing themselves to be poor owners (both financially and in terms of running a franchise), Petrie's awful draft day moves last year, all the rumors floating about and the general uncertainty about this year's crop, I'm actually much more anxious than excited.
I'll actually be relieved when the draft is over.
Latest from Sam Amick:
"Also, I've been assured that it's possible that the Kings would pass on Kidd-Gilchrist if he remained available."

Dear god, please knock some sense into our front office today. We've been through enough.
please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...please be a smoke screen...
Who ever we pick at 5, we will not be picking for ourselves. We are trading the pick. I am 98% certain of that!

I would take Drummond over MKG. MKG will be a good player, but I don't see the superstar potential. Maybe he continues to work hard and proves me wrong.
Drummond has superstar potential with his size and athleticism alone. So it really depends on his interview with GP and the FO. If they believe he is a good kid and will work hard, take Drummond. You don't see 19 year old, 7 feet 280 lbs centers that can jump, run and block shots everyday.
I suspect you could be correct. If we pick Drummond, I'm almost certain it will be part of a trade. Should be a suspenseful day. My gut tells me something is afoot. But then I've had a couple of cervesa's.
I wish they let me drink cervesa's at work.
You need one of these:
