Jeff Hornacek - G
Ah Horny. A pure shooter. Horny moved great without the ball and at one time made a record 8 three pointers before missing.

The guy I choose is one of my all time favorite Sacramento Kings, even though he might not be most remember as a King.

Eddie "EJ" Johnson G/F

(looking for good picture)

"If you ever wanted to see someone shooting with text book form, accuracy, and follow thru, Eddie Johnson is the man..." Reggie Miller

Considered one of the greatest pure jump shooters to ever play in the NBA, Eddie Johnson played for seventeen years for six NBA teams:
  • Kansas City/Sacramento Kings (1981 – 1987)
  • Phoenix Suns (1987 – 1990)
  • Seattle Supersonics (1990 – 1993)
  • Charlotte Hornets (1993 – 1994)
  • Indiana Pacers (1995 – 1997)
  • Houston Rockets (1997 – 1999)
Scoring over 19,000 career points, Eddie has the distinction of being the NBA's all-time leading scorer off the bench having fewer than 500 starts. In the 1988-89 season, he won the NBA’s "Sixth Man" of the Year Award averaging 21.5 PPG for the Phoenix Suns.

"Eddie Johnson's outside shot can change the tempo of a game", says Cotton Fitzsimmons, the former NBA coach who drafted him. Eddie is best known for his 24 foot buzzer beater against the Utah Jazz in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals in 1997. In 1999, Eddie retired from the Houston Rockets and is currently the radio/television analyst for the Phoenix Suns.

I'll post the "on the clock" in a minute. First, without further ado, I'm adding my "sixth man" and I'm really glad he's still available.

Corliss "Big Nasty" Williamson - F

Act_corliss_williamson.jpg

Williamson declared for the NBA Draft following his junior season, and was selected by the Sacramento Kings as a lottery pick (13th overall) in the first round of the 1995 NBA Draft. His best career year was in the 1997-98 season when he played 79 games and averaged 17.7 points per game for the Kings, finishing second to Alan Henderson for the NBA Most Improved Player Award. After Sacramento traded him prior to the 2000-01 season to the Toronto Raptors (in exchange for Doug Christie), for whom he played 42 games, Williamson was traded to the Detroit Pistons where in the 2001-02 season he was named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year and eventually was a member of the Pistons' 2003-04 NBA Championship team. After being traded by the Pistons along with an undisclosed amount of cash to the Philadelphia 76ers for Derrick Coleman and Amal McCaskill on August 8, 2004, he was again traded back to the Kings along with Brian Skinner and Kenny Thomas for power forward Chris Webber on February 22, 2005.

Williamson has gained certain fame for being one of the few professional basketball players to win national championships at three different levels, AAU, the NCAA with Arkansas, and the NBA with Detroit.

Williamson announced his retirement in September 2007 to become an assistant coach at Arkansas Baptist College

Big Nasty is and was a class act and I think he'll fit quite nicely on my team.

I was thinking about taking KMart, but his lack of D and other areas is just too much.

So AleksanderN and tradepeja are up, tradepeja's turn should just be over, we all have waited too long for each of his picks...

I've got it under control, vi... If tradepeja times out, he is going to be put on a kind of probationary status. It's simply not right for one person to slow the draft down, especially when he HAS been on the board at least twice.

:)

I'll add a picture for you in a minute, KF...

I've sent a PM to Tradepeja. I let him know he was on Dream Team Draft "probation" and if he timed out again he would permanently forfeit a pick. That was several hours ago. I wonder if he times out on purpose to get multiple picks in at a time, to get better chemistry...That's not cool:(. Let's move on...

William "Red" Holzman-Asst. Coach

red-Holzman.jpg

When he retired, Red Holzman was the second most winning coach in NBA history with 696 victories in 18 seasons as a head coach, mostly with the New York Knicks (613 wins). His Knick teams won NBA championships in 1970 and 1973 and lost the 1972 finals. Red was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1986.

Elmore Smith

Ahh Big Elmore Smith. My beef down low. You bring it inside to this guy and you know it's getting blocked. Averaged an insane 4.9 blocks per game during the 73-74 season. Can rebound can score, the total package for a big guy.

Best Year

11.2 RPG/ 4.9 BPG/ 12.5 PPG

Yeah I apologize for this. I've been busy but that's no excuse because most of you probably have been. The picks are getting tougher and tougher...

I should have picked this guy a long time ago

Ralph Sampson - PF/C

The Twin Towers unite!

Ralph Sampson, the one time King, all-time Laker killer was a beast in the lane...before his injuries. His pre-injury numbers totaled around a less-than-modest 21 PPG, 11 RPG, 3 APG, 2.5 BPG mark. Here's some other marks of his career.

* 4x NBA All-Star (1984-1987)
* 1x All-NBA Second Team Selection (1985)
* 1984 NBA Rookie of the Year
* 1984 NBA All-Rookie Team
* 1x NBA All-Star Game MVP (1985)
* 3x USBWA College Player of the Year (1981-1983)
* 3x Naismith College Player of the Year (1981-1983)
* 2x John R. Wooden Award (1982-1983)
* 3x Adolph Rupp Trophy (1981-1983)

Geez VF, even when Im regularly logging on you're still beating me to the update-punch!

This must be what it is truly like to be the power mongering boss Brick claims I am.
TO have my underlings perform my job under me without any sort of command at all!!!

BWA HAHAHA!

:p

:o

Sorry. I got used to doing it in your absence. I'll slink back to my minion lair, oh power mad one.

:p

No need VF.
You have now been granted the right to step upon my pedestal!
;)

In all seriousness,
Having a fill in Co-Commish is making this run even smoother than it was in the early stages.
Youre making the draft much more smoother with your help, so please keep it up if you're up to it!

Purely selfish motives, SLAB. I'm waiting not-too-patiently for my next pick to come up so I can go to sleep!

:)

Well, your selfish motives have made the draft happen faster than planned.

Keep being selfish, VF.
