Downtown railyard plans

#1
I thought this might be a good idea to see exactly what is being contemplated for the railyard. It's not just that Thomas Enterprises has set aside land, they have pretty good site plans on how this works together.

FYI, the city website is loaded with tons of info on the railyard plans. Maps, studies - you name it.
Here are the maps and diagrams for the project:

Unit #82 is going to be a Bass Pro shop, according to the Bee a couple days ago.

That's the parcel directly west of the proposed arena site.

I think it's more of a placeholder arena design than anything. Although the architect firm, Jerde, that produced these drawings also did the Palms Casino. So I wouldn't doubt the Maloofs would keep them involved further. Jerde is a heavy hitter in the architecture and planning field. But their experience on sports facilities is a bit on the light side. I think they were brought in to design the whole railyard which something they are known for.
