Donte had his shot here. He couldn't get playing time at our weakest position from 4 separate coaches. He is young enough and talented enough to turn his NBA career around and provide solid minutes for someone, but he was not going to do it here.

GW was trapped behind 4-5 talented swingmen the whole time he was here. Donte Greene probably didn't get the ideal treatment, but his best competition has been washed up vets and Casspi.

Still, I can see Greene spending 10 years in the league as a spot minute 10th man, defending tall swingmen and stretch 4's. If only his shot was half as nice as it looks, or he learned how to dribble in a straight line.

Drafted by the Grizzlies in 2008 with a pick they received from the Lakers as part of the Gasol deal and then dealt to Houston as part of the Artest deal before the actual start of the 2008-2009 season. So technically, I guess you could say his entire NBA career - not counting a summer league appearance for the Rockets - had been with the Kings.

I wish Donte Greene well in Brooklyn, but I doubt if we're going to be regretting that he's gone. He just never showed the commitment to play that we wanted from him or the incredible raw talent of Gerald Wallace.

I also wish him the best. I hope he's learned his lesson, and puts in the time and the work to reach his potential. The irony to me, is that his best friend on the Kings, JT, is one of the hardest working players on the team. So its not as though he didn't have some of the right influence. He just chose to ignore it. His clock is running, so hopefully, he's ready to bust his butt.

Likable guy, though overrated by many around these parts. Couldnt shoot, his D wasnt all that, horrible rebounder for his height and athleticism.


I'm sure he'll give the Nets some garbage time highlights though, especially playing with a more pure PG in Williams.

That all may be true, but he could tell a buzzer beater was going in after it barely left the shooter's hands. Being psychic has to make up for some of his deficiencies.
