I actually think Cisco should fit right in with our teams new scrappy identity. He's a great locker room guy as well.
I just wonder what contending team has a bag of chips for Noc. I honestly think he's worth kettle chips, as apposed to doritos.
You know, here is the interesting thing: Noc fits the team's scrappy image too. The problem? He's too old and he's directly in the way of our emerging kids. And actually that would apply to Cisco too. Unless:
Kevin. The holdouts on the Reke PG issue focus on Beno playing alongside him, and they are partially correct. Not that Beno is playing PG, but that Beno can help. This is what we talked about before the season. Beno is a "OG" who can help bring the ball, up, help get people in sets, help pass etc. And remember our glory years? Doug Chrstie was a true SG, but he could do those things as well. One of the reasons we were such a good passing team was that we had 4 passers in the lineup.
And so Cisco returns...as our SG. He probably is a good fit next to Reke -- can shoot, handle a bit, will compete, scrap, help lead. Can spot up for threes off those Reke kickouts. But does not need nor expect a large number of shots to contribute. And then while it would be nice to shed the contract, you bring Beno off the bench as the third guard. At all times then you have two ballhandlers and at least one pretty good shooter on the floor.
But of course that gets back to the whole move Kevin issue, which has its own thread. But from a roster balance/fit status, it makes sense. Again however, you have to get something of real value for him. I like the Hibbert idea (not only a shotblocker, but a good passer used to the Princeton), if Indiana would even do that deal anymore (we end up with three near 7 fotoers who can all pass as well as 3 guards who all pass). But something. And if Omri/Donte are splitting the future at SF, and Reke is the future at PG then that something should either be a big, either a star or someone who can defend, or a big combo guard/handling SG (i.e. upgrades over either Beno or Cisco).
