We have now reached the stage of the trade analysis where people say it was a “win/win” for both teams, but the Pacers won the trade because haliburton is on his rookie deal and under team control for x number of years. The “experts” will never give in on this point, no matter how good Domas plays.
Funny because when Hali signs his designated rookie extension it is really going to complicate Indy's timeline. And that will happen before Domas re-signs, but I can't imagine too many scenarios where he doesn't.

The only thing that worries me is when Sabonis brings the ball up the court. Not that he does it ineffectively--he dribbles really well for a big man--but because he normally brings his knees up much higher when coming down the court. That can add wear and tear over the course of three or four seasons.
I would much rather anyone else bring the ball up over half court, especially one of the guards.

Well crap. If Domas doesn’t play our odds of winning plummet. And I’m pretty sure the Lakers sat most of their best players vs the Suns last night to be fresh for the Kings. SMH

I think there is very little doubt that he is having his best season.His impact stats compared favorably to anyone not named Jokic, Doncic, Giannis and maybe 2-3 others.
Uh what? Almost every possession runs through Domas. Just because he doesn't chuck 20+ shots a game, doesn't mean he hasn't been the main focus of the offense.
I'd argue the exact opposite lol. Brown has been using Domas to near perfection and he's having the best season of his career by a decent margin. If the Kings can finish as a 5 or 6 seed, he's going to get some MVP looks if he continues even 80% of what he's done the last 10 games.
Yeah, I dunno how you could watch even 1 game this year and not see how everything runs through Domas. I'd be curious to see what % of half-court sets where he didn't at least touch the ball once this year. It's been very Jokic-esq where everything in the offensive set starts with him in some capacity.

One of those times where I am glad I don't knee jerk respond and continue to read and find someone who responded more succinctly and to the point than I would have. Solid response.
Sabonis is being utilized perfectly, albeit at a level where he needs a good backup that hasn't materialized yet. He needs help. No, it's not DMC.
More insane Domas numbers. I just think we were lied to about him being a bad defender. He gets challenged more than anyone in the NBA and holds up with the best rim protectors in basketball quite well. The "hE dOeSn'T bLoCk sHoTs, sO hE'S nOt a rIm pRoTeCtOr" doesn't seem to be holding much water

You seem to be worried about the fact that Domas' scoring has gone down from his Indiana days (from 19.4 points per 36 over his career at Indiana, down to...19.4 points per 36 this year in Sac).
But you're right, he did score 40 points once
So I think we're going to take your deep concern for how badly we're misusing Domas out to the rice paddies, bury it under a foot of mud, let the waters of the bypass flood over it, and see if it sprouts into something by May, mmm-kay?

Well I’ll take his word for it that he is only playing to 50 percent of his ability and then be pleasantly surprised when Domas turns into rich man’s Jokic
Yeah, we're verging on GOAT territory if you add another 50% on top of what Sabonis is doing right now.
I'd like to see him be a bit more aggressive scoring wise when he plays against other big centers but his play seems dialed in to me other than that one issue. When he gets a smaller body on him, he always looks to post up. If the double comes and he's stuck, he passes out and it's usually to the open man and not just the first guy he sees. It seems like he's playing too unselfishly sometimes but he's not really passing up scoring opportunities when he has the advantage.
I see him being aggressive scoring when the opposing teams don’t triple team him. There are times when the other team clearly doesn’t have a chance to stop him and he scores more but when they start collapsing the entire defense around him, he’s more than willing to kick it out. I just think he makes the right play almost all the time. He’s a brilliant basketball player
