Have you been reading? No one said a coach could have gotten us to a win yesterday, we're point out the things Adelman lacks as a coach overall. We also think it wasn't Adelman's "great coaching" that brought us to the playoffs, we believe it was Artest

Artest is clearly a great player, but he most certaily did not do this alone. All the other Kings had to change their games to acommodate Artest's game (and understood the need for it, I'm sure). Rick said that was one of the things he was most proud of about this team.

And Rick and his coaching staff in about 3 months had to dramatically change the way this team plays. It was Rick who put the ball into Artest's hands a lot, told him the ball was going to be in his hands a lot and that he was probably going to make mistakes. But Rick still trusted and respected Ron's abililities that much.

If people here think that integrating Ron into an existing team 3 months before the playoffs and having that turn around the team's season has nothing to do with coach, I really don't know what to say.

Do I think Adelman's perfect. No. Do I get frustrated with him sometimes? Yes. I also get frustrated with each and everyone of our players at different times. I also get frustrated with the Maloofs and Petrie sometimes.

Instead of just harping on Rick's faults, please name a realistically available coach who is a surefire improvement.

Whatever, I wanted to happen in this series, I knew the real chances of us beating the Spurs were slim to none. So calling for anyone's head over a 3-month team losing to a dynasty........

Artest has a strong personality. If he feels like he is getting the respect he deserves from the coach he'll be OK, if not he's going to go to war.

Exactly! There are so many things to consider in getting a new coach. The Maloofs wanted Artest, now they had better work just as hard in making sure we have a coach who can "handle him." Obviously, Adelman fits the description.

No, no, no, no, no. It's not the players. It's the lack of coaching acumen shown by Rick Adelman that allows them to make the mistakes. The players themselves are perfect creatures with no egos and no special needs who are extremely talented and, if left to their own devices, would probably be able to win 55+ games with little or no effort. They just let Adelman come along for the ride. It's only when they listen to him that they get in trouble... Or wait. They only get in trouble because he doesn't say anything...or says the wrong things. Or, maybe it's they only do badly because they know they don't have to try their hardest because Adelman is incompetent. Or, wait... They are doing it because they really want a new coach and figure tanking games is the best way to do it and since Adelman has just held them back they'll do much better once he's gone...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Adelman say "I didn't choose to bring him in here" when Artest joined the team? That right there says he doesn't want him here. Adelman and Pete Carril are also both fans of the Princeton-style offense where the C is at the top of the key, but unfortunately with Artest/Bonzi that won't work without great passers. It's time for a change...I still stick by my statement that Adelman isn't a great coach.

For the record, the quote you're referring to by Adelman is part of a larger statement. Coach Adelman was asked why he had made the trade. His response was an indication that he didn't make the decision, NOT that he didn't want Artest here.

I know that bursts your little bubble on this particular segment of Adelman bashing but try and deal with it, okay?

And yet oddly it did not happen. And even more oddly it seems we are going to have Ron back next year. And so what you would or would not have done before Ron's arrival is irrelevant.

And if you DON'T recognize the absolute criticalness of keeping Ron Artest, notorious franchise wrecker, with a coach he likes/respects...well, I'm sorry. You put Ron with a coach who he clashes with and it is OVER.

lol whoops, wrote that post too fast. I meant to say had we of had Peja all season long and continued down the 18-26 path, a lot more would be saying "Time for a new coach". I also meant to say Adelman didn't turn Artest into some guy who's just magically been good all of a sudden, that's something you put upon yourself. If we brought another coach in next season and Ron is still here I don't think he'll clash with him, he's learned from his mistakes and matured.

Some things I believe:

1. The Spurs are a great TEAM.
2. The Kings are an average TEAM (with a bright furure ahead).
3. Adelman and Pop are GREAT coaches. I will NOT blame the coach for loses
4. The Spurs SHOULD win this series. They have more experience and depth.
5. The Kings COULD pull of an upset, barring any other games like Saturday's game.
6. MAKING THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR WAS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT.
I decided before the series, that I would simply enjoy the ride.
This game was a HUGE pothole, but we can still keep riding!
7. I STILL BELIEVE IN MIRACLES!!!! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

This is the most sensible cluster of statements ever to come out of Louisiana. I agree, and I am not voting in New Orleans.
