No matter what, the Kings will have to be careful with their approach with Giles. He's going to be on minute restrictions probably like 25mins max? At least for the first 1/4 of the season. We saw the Sixers do this with Joel Embiid even this year. They wouldn't even let him play back to back games.
However, I have a "conspiracy theory" about Giles minutes this year. If Giles does very well in SL, the Kings will allow him to play 20mpg out of the gate. However, if Giles struggles in SL(papaG style), then he's going to be getting 10mpg and the Kings will make up some excuse about the rehab process taking a while. They've hyped up the heck out of Giles. If he disappoints in SL out of all places, it'll blow up in their face. In order to save face, they'll give him limited NBA minutes, and still be able to market Giles as a mystery prospect who's CWebb 2.0 when healthy.
I'm extremely skeptical of Harry Giles.
Your argument is ludicrous. What happened under the Magoofs is completely irrelevant to what is going on now. The same could be said about what happened while Ranadive was learning how to be a good owner (d'Allesandro) and let the basketball people handle the basketball side of the business. It's too early to tell how this group is doing; neither one of us knows the answer to that. The difference is that you think you do because of some stuff you read on the internet. A perfect example of why most internet "debates" are a waste of time.Who would that be in the Kings organization over the last 10-11 years and currently on the team cause based on results I'm not seeing anyone who know's what they're doing.
Giles sat out a whole year to rehab. Why would the Kings restrict him again this year? He's healthy or he's not.

Just taking a shot in the dark on a guy we havent seen, but based on the hype and how hes been described i can see Giles being like a Derrick Favors with better passing?
I think at this point Giles will play whatever minutes Joerger feels he's earned. At this point, he's either totally healthy or he's not. Lets remember, he did play the last third of the season at Duke, and his minutes were increasing as the season went along. He's been prodded, measured, tested and retested. He's practiced with, and against his own teammates. So at this point, I doubt he'll be on any kind of health or injury restiction, unless something pops up.
If they were going to do the restriction thing, they would have played him last season and done it then. If he's not ready to go at this point, then they might as well forget the whole thing.
If he's back to his full health, then he's twice the athlete that Favors is. In high school, his game was nothing like Favors. In high school Giles had a very good a face up game. Favors has been a back to the basket player his whole career. Yeah, he has a little midrange game now, but Giles is a far better ballhandler. If the best Giles can be is a duplicate to Favors, then I'm highly disappointed. I think Giles will be a far superior player. Don't judge Giles by what you saw at Duke. They just planted him under the basket to minimize the chance of injury.

I can't really judge him, more or less just thinking out loud. I can't think of a more fascinating debut than what we will see on Monday. I'm sure he will have a ton of rust, but if he truly is special or has special in him that should be able to shine through. What has gotten me excited is the quotes from his teammates more so than the organization. Like Willie said he thinks he can be ROY, a player he will be competing with for minutes. If he's back to his full health, then he's twice the athlete that Favors is. Yes. He is going to be a monster. Side note take a look at what the ringer says about Bagley:

At Duke, Bagley looked like a man among boys, dominating college basketball in a way that—other than Anthony Davis in 2011-12—no big man has in the past decade. He’s an athletic marvel with a ton of energy who ran the floor, lived above the rim, grabbed seemingly every available rebound, made plays off the dribble from the high post, and occasionally stepped out to hit 3s. Ayton was dominant in his own right and posted similar stats (Bagley averaged 21 points and 11.1 rebounds per game; Ayton averaged 20.1 points and 11.6 boards), but he played against far inferior Pac-12 competition and never looked as comfortable and fluid as Bagley did.

Does starting really matter that much? I am more concerned that Bagley and all the key youngsters play enough minutes to develop. I thought Fox was handled really well last year.
Start him on the bench, then bring him into the starting 5 as a secondary ball handler, then get him to be the primary ball handler and primary PG. I would expect similar approach with Bagley and I am perfectly fine with that.
Just curious....why? I agree they are building up a lot of high expectations. But why would you think they would put he pressure on him if you don’t think he’s at least got a chance to be a nice player?I'm extremely skeptical of Harry Giles.
