Do we have a chance to get the pacific division?

Weren't we the 3rd best Win% team in the entire NBA after the all-star break last year? I'm not 100% sure about that stat but I think I heard that on a few occasions. Could anyone help me out? If it's indeed true, then yes we do have a shot at our division. Sure we finished 8th in the West last year but if the Ron for Peja trade would of been done earlier in the season we would of been higher in the standings, no doubt. As of right now in the off-esason. Our team didn't change much from last year. We added Salmons and Douby, while losing Bonzi (maybe for something, maybe for nothing).

I think we can do it.

Talk about a deep division though. When you got teams like both L.As, Suns, us and the Warriors. With our roster as it is right now. We have a shot. If eveything goes relatively well and all.

of course, but you'd have to take into account that bonzi was in the line-up and we had a coach who was a known quantity.

there are a lot of factors this year, but heck if everything goes well we could win the championship.

Suns win it if Amare's near to what he was or back to his old form. But if Amare's not near what he was, I think it's a three-way race between Kings/Clippers/Suns.

I still think people in general are underrating this team as of now, to a degree at least.

but people really are underestimating this team. Losing Bonzi Wells won't destroy our team.

Absolutely agreed.

What a bunch of sad sacks here.

This is the year Kevin Martin becomes Kevin Martin Superstar, elite-of-the-elite NBA superstar, and takes us all the way...

...to a respectable second round exit.

Tongue in cheek or no, 2nd round exits are hard to come by if you don't happen to win your division. Then you end up maximum of 5th (assuming Dal/San Antonio are obvious best non-division winner) with only one potential soft spot in hte first round (most likely Denver).

as a starter last season Matin averaged 14 pts 5 reb and 3 ast shooting 50% from the field and 43% from beyond the arc he was in the high 80's at the FT line. Now he will be more polished. I think it is low balling to predict his numbers as follows 17pts 5reb 4ast 45%fg 39%3pt with 87%FT including 1.7 stls

that was a good read. I remember it all nineonesix. Its not like we had that dynamic frontcourt presence when we had one of the best records in the league after the all-star game. Now playoffs yes we need that guy. But a 50 win season is a no brainer with the group we have right now. i mean we won 44 last season and had the worst first half in the last 8 years. I mean there was a time in the 1st half with our starting 2,3, and 4 men were down for 2 and 3 game strtches at a time. That hurts more so to the bench when all of a sudden they are the starters and there is NO bench. Now is 82 games enough to develope one of our young bigs to be good enough to spell Miller or Reef for some good min or is both of them. Only time will tell.

what a joke, why do people think that we have no way of taking the pacific title. we lost bonzi so what. we played our best games without him starting martin. we have promising rookies, a new coach. dont you all remember that we had the near best second half of the season record thanks to mr. artest. A full year with artest is promising. hey check this out

Good read for sure. That pretty much sums up my thoughts on our upcoming season.

Do we have a chance? Of course, but not likely. We have no idea how this will play out. Last year when Artest came, we had Adelman. We have no idea at this point how Coach Muss will do with this group. KT was happy because he got to start, ergo, he improved after Reef's injury. We don't have any idea what the 4 will look like. We desparately need a back-up C.

Am I down on the Kings? Of course not, but it is too early to tell. I still hope more movement will take place with the players on this team. If we get a move in the right direction, I'll be a lot more hopeful.
